Is War With Iran Imminent?

This time, it's more than a rumor…

The shooting has already started in the Persian Gulf – and chances are we'll be at war with Iran before President Bush's term is up. An American ship under contract with the U.S. Navy – the Western Venture – claims it was in international waters when Iranian speedboats approached and failed to answer radio calls. Shots were fired on the American side. Iran denies the whole thing. Yet you'll recall that in the last incident, involving the capture of British sailors, the story about being in international waters was the same – except, it turns out, they weren't in international waters, but in disputed waters, just as we speculated in this space. There's no reason to expect anything different this time. Clearly, the U.S. and Britain are trying to trigger a new conflict with the most brazen provocations, and they don't really care how it happens – only that it does.

The indications of an imminent attack – the latest incident, the steady stream of accusations coming from the U.S. regarding Iranian influence in Iraq, the nuclear charade, etc. – have suddenly taken a more ominous turn with the recent statement of America's top military officer that the U.S. is weighing military action against Iran. The Washington Post reports:

"The nation's top military officer said yesterday that the Pentagon is planning for 'potential military courses of action' as one of several options against Iran, criticizing what he called the Tehran government's 'increasingly lethal and malign influence' in Iraq. Admiral Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said a conflict with Iran would be 'extremely stressing' but not impossible for U.S. forces, pointing to reserve capabilities in the Navy and Air Force."

Speaking of malign influences: since when does an American military officer make foreign policy pronouncements, as if he were the president? It's an indication of the advances militarism has made in what used to be a republic that no one has so much as blinked at the brazenness of such blatant Caesarism.

The reasons for the uptick in the rhetorical and physical assault on Iran by the Americans are entirely due to domestic politics, not anything occurring on the ground in the region.

Hillary Clinton's demagogic threat to "obliterate" Iran, uttered on national television just before the Pennsylvania primary, was meant to buttress her newfound image as a shot-swilling macho up against the effete, Adlai Stevenson-esque Barack "Arugula" Obama. It's the Old Politics, trying to revive the red state-blue state dichotomy, and it's driving us down the road to war with Tehran. McCain, too, is helped by the ratcheting up of tensions in the Persian Gulf: think what the outbreak of war with Iran would do for his underdog candidacy.

Standing behind this developing pro-war Popular Front, the central factor in turning the U.S. toward a policy of confrontation rather than constructive engagement with Iran has been the Israel lobby. Since 1993, the Lobby has been demanding that the U.S. take a more aggressive approach to the mullahs of Tehran, and, with few exceptions, has been largely successful.

The policy of "dual containment," conceived by the Clinton administration during the early 1990s, meant that the U.S. was committed to hostile relations with both Iraq and Iran. The policy, as John J. Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt point out, "was essentially a copy of an Israeli proposal." It meant stationing troops in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to offset an alleged threat to American interests. Yet there was no reason to assume Tehran had hostile intentions toward the U.S. At the time, Iranian President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani was eager to establish friendly relations with the U.S. As pressure built to abandon "dual containment" and initiate a more workable policy that would give the U.S. more flexibility, the Lobby went on the offensive with a relentless campaign to impose economic sanctions on Iran.

The Iranians, determined to signal their willingness to be reasonable, chose an American oil company, Conoco, to develop the Sirri oil fields. As Trita Parsi points out in Treacherous Alliance: The Secret Dealings of Israel, Iran, and the United States:

"For AIPAC, the Conoco deal 'was a coincidence and a convenient target.' The organization went into high gear to use the Iranian offer not only to scuttle the Conoco deal, but also to put an end to all U.S.-Iran trade. In a report that it released on April 2, 1995, titled 'Comprehensive U.S. Sanctions Against Iran: A Plan for Action,' AIPAC argued that Iran must be punished for its actions against Israel. 'Iran's leaders reject the existence of Israel. Moreover, Iran views the peace process as an American attempt to legalize Israel's occupation of Palestinian, Muslim lands,' it said. Pressured by Congress, AIPAC, and the Israelis, President Clinton swiftly scrapped the deal by issuing two executive orders that effectively prohibited all trade with Iran. The decision was announced on April 30 by Clinton in a speech before the World Jewish Congress."

This wasn't enough for the Lobby, which brought pressure on Sen. Alphonse D'Amato to introduce a bill that imposed sanctions on any countries doing business with either Libya or Iran. The Iran-Libya Sanctions Act passed the House with not a single dissenting vote, and the same scenario went down in the Senate. The Lobby made sure the Iranian peace offering was rudely rebuffed – and the president reminded of just who was in charge of U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. The White House meekly went along with the Lobby's wishes: after all, the presidential election was but three months away.

The Conoco affair should dispel any myths about the supposedly supreme power of the "oil lobby" as the decisive factor in shaping U.S. policy in the region: the Israel lobby beat them hands down. As James Schlesinger put it, "It is scarcely possible to overstate the influence of Israel's supporters on our politics in the Middle East." The harder the Iranians tried to approach the Americans, the more rudely they were repulsed.

The election of the even more pro-American Mohammad Khatami as Iran's president in 1997 did not break the back of "dual containment" – dubbed "a nutty idea" by Brent Scowcroft, albeit one with plenty of domestic political traction. The U.S. had every reason to pursue a policy of engagement, while that was possible, giving Iranian moderates the political breathing space they needed to ensure the growth of pro-American forces in the country. The benefits of opening up Iran to American investment are similarly obvious, yet our leaders chose to do otherwise due solely to the power of the Lobby. As Ephraim Sneh, a prominent figure on the Israeli Right, acknowledged: "We were against it … because the interest of the U.S. did not coincide with ours."

In short: Washington policymakers weighed the interests of both the U.S. and Israel, and made their decision accordingly…

From dual containment to regional transformation and "regime change" was not a long road to travel. After 9/11, Washington embarked on a campaign to topple the governments of both Iraq and Iran, as well as Syria, and rid Lebanon of Hezbollah while they were at it. As soon as "mission accomplished" was declared in Iraq, the Israelis and their American amen corner began demanding action against Iran.

In an interview with the Times of London, Ariel Sharon declared that Washington had better start threatening to march on Tehran "the day after" Baghdad was secured. By late April 2003, the Israeli ambassador to Washington was complaining that the demise of Saddam's regime was "not enough." Those indolent Americans must be made to "follow through" by taking action against "great threats of that magnitude coming from Syria, coming from Iran."

Shimon Peres rallied the faithful with an op-ed in the War Street Journal titled "We Must Unite to Prevent an Ayatollah Nuke." The neoconservatives convened a special all-day conference devoted to inciting war hysteria aimed at Tehran, with all the usual suspects – Michael Ledeen, Bernard Lewis, Reuel Marc Gerecht – in attendance. The cry went up: "Regime change!" The only question was which exile faction we were going to support: the royalists, or the cult-like neo-Marxist Mujahideen-e-Khalq (MEK) and its numerous well-connected front groups in the U.S. and Europe.

The leaders of the latter have energetically vied for the role of the Iranian Chalabi, coming up with reams of "intelligence" detailing Iran's alleged nuclear weapons program. Their "revelations," however, have been definitively debunked by the latest national intelligence estimate, which says Tehran abandoned its nuclear program some time ago. All those diagrams and documents coming from MEK by the truckload were evidence of a nuclear program that no longer existed.

If any of this sounds familiar, then it should.

The efforts of the Lobby aren't limited to war propaganda. The AIPAC spy trial – in which two top officials of the powerful pro-Israel lobbying organization have been indicted for passing top-secret classified information to Israeli embassy officials – is all about Israel's attempt to penetrate U.S. governmental discussions about what stance to take regarding Iran, with the goal of exerting maximum influence on American policymaking circles.

Israel considers a nuclear-armed Iran an "existential threat" to the Jewish state, a contention that amounts to little more than absolute nonsense. Their argument goes something like this: Iran is not a normal state, it is run by ideologues who are profoundly invested in apocalyptic religious visions that can only end in war. Deterrence means nothing to them. They want to be incinerated in a nuclear exchange involving Israel, themselves, and quite possibly the U.S., because it fulfills the ancient prophecies and means the return of the Mahdi, or something along those lines.

This makes no more sense than the inverse version of the religion-determines-all theory, which would have the "born again" George W. Bush intent on provoking a nuclear war in the Middle East in order to bring about the Second Coming and the Kingdom of God on Earth – as the Christian dispensationalists who make up so much of the GOP's base fervently believe is entirely possible and certainly desirable.

These latter, of course, are the foot-soldiers of the Israel Lobby in America, a group that GOP presidential candidate John McCain has actively courted in the person of the Rev. John Hagee. Rev. Hagee is a vicious Catholic-hater and all-around nut-job who looks forward to a nuclear war in the Middle East as the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. Hagee has lately taken up with AIPAC, appearing at their last national confab in a starring role.

This administration, which has been in thrall to the Israel lobby more than any other, has been increasing the volume in its war of words with Tehran since January of this year, and, as Bush's reign comes to an inglorious end, there apparently remains one last act of perfidy the neocons will leave as their legacy. Bush's going away gift to the American people looks more than likely to be another war – one that truly does make the Iraq war seem like a "cakewalk" in comparison. It took a few years for the impact of the war in Iraq to be felt by the American people, and its full impact has yet to hit. Not so with the next war. The firing of a few shots at those speedboats sent the price of oil up three bucks. Think of what a full-scale all-out war would do to the price of nearly everything. And for what?

Iran, a signatory to the Nonproliferation Treaty, says it is not seeking to build nuclear weapons, and that the production of nuclear energy for peaceful uses is the one and only goal of its activities on this front. This is more than Israel can say, far more. Everyone knows the Israelis have nukes – the technology for which they probably stole from us – and they are one of the few civilized countries who haven't signed the NPT and refuse to even discuss doing so.

If ever there was a nuclear rogue nation, then surely it is Israel. As Henry Kissinger said of them in a 1969 memo to Richard Nixon: "The Israelis, who are one of the few peoples whose survival is genuinely threatened, are probably more likely than almost any other country to actually use their nuclear weapons." Although the Iranians claim their nuclear program is geared exclusively toward peaceful purposes, that they have the option to act otherwise, should the need arise, is a challenge to Israel's nuclear hegemony. The Iranians, by American and Israeli lights, have no right to a deterrent.

In a world where "benevolent global hegemony" is the goal of U.S. foreign policy, there is no right to self-defense; that, along with national sovereignty, has been abolished. Defiance is met with an implacable campaign for regime-change in the offending nation. By all indications, Iran is the next victim to be made an example of, sometime in mid-summer, or so the rumor goes.

We know where the presidential candidates stand on this issue. Hillary looks forward to the "obliteration" of Iran and takes up Charles Krauthammer's demand that we extend our nuclear shield over Tel Aviv just as we would do the same for, say, Toledo. Indeed, there are not a few who would argue that we would be fully justified in sacrificing the latter in order to save the former, and not all of them are to be found among Rev. Hagee's deluded flock. In any case, we know what the McCain-Hagee position is without even having to ask.

We also know where Obama stands on all or most of this: he advocates a policy of engagement with the Iranians, just as he has endorsed talking with South American caudillo Hugo Chavez, and for the same very sound reasons: because it's talk or fight. He clearly realizes waging perpetual war is hardly in our interests, even if we had the financial and military capacity to carry out such a crazed policy. Yet, if he's speaking out about this, at this crucial moment – when the chairman of the Joint Chiefs is practically declaring war on the Iranians – then I just can't hear him: he must not be speaking very loudly, or perhaps this gets lost amid all the soaring rhetoric about Change and Hope and A Better Tomorrow.

Hillary voted for the Kyl-Lieberman resolution, which designated the Iranian Revolutionary Guards – an official part of the Iranian armed forces – as a "terrorist organization," and now Gen. Petraeus is telling us Tehran is funding, arming, and succoring those who are killing American soldiers and bombing the Green Zone. The main threat against us in Iraq is no longer the Sunni "dead-enders," as Don Rumsfeld liked to call them, it's the Mahdi Army – Iraqi Shi'ites – and the Iranians, who have very close ties to the government our troops are dying to defend. If Bush seeks to obliterate Iranian hopes for regional preeminence by launching an attack before he leaves office, one can hardly see how the Clintons could possibly object: perhaps they'll declare that, this time, we have to send enough troops to "do the job." This, you'll recall, was Hillary's McCain-like critique of the Iraq invasion long before being antiwar was required of all Democratic presidential aspirants. No doubt she'll revert to that when the time comes, but what about Obama?

He could skewer Hillary the hawk with one well-placed arrow, aimed straight at her vulnerability on the Iran issue. With the first shots of a new war already fired, apparently, and rumors of an imminent American strike at Iran flying thick and fast, Obama could denounce her as a warmonger, a McCain in drag, whose short-term political opportunism is helping to embroil us in a quagmire far worse than the one in Iraq, where she played a similar role in 2003. Yet I hear nothing like this coming from Obama's camp. Maureen Dowd nails it, with her typically acerbic take:

"Despite all his incandescent gifts, Obama has missed several opportunities to smash the ball over the net and end the game. Again and again, he has seemed stuck at deuce. He complains about the politics of scoring points, but to win, you've got to score points."

The American people oppose war with Iran, perhaps more than they want out of Iraq: the economic consequences alone will infuriate them far more than any other foreign policy decision of this administration. What the War Party is hoping is that their fury will be directed overseas, at our alleged "enemies" in Tehran, and not at home, in the direction of Washington, where proper blame belongs.

Americans await the advent of a real leader, the sort who could and would focus that anger on the right target. Whether Obama has the gumption – and the strategic sense – to make this fight about policy, not personalities, race, and gender, remains to be seen. He's promised us a new politics, but that doesn't have to mean blandness and an inability to fight. It can and must mean sharp attacks on wrong ideas – and one looks in vain for an idea as wrongheaded as war with Iran.

Economic conditions in the West Bank as well as Gaza are deteriorating, leaving many incensed at the masquerade of peace talks, writes Khaled Amayreh in Ramallah

As 1.5 million Gazans are crying out to the world to pressure Israel to lift its scandalously callous blockade of the coastal territory, another 2.5 million Palestinians in the West Bank are struggling to cope with an unprecedented economic crisis that is further impoverishing and exhausting them.

The crisis, the harshest in recent memory, stems from a host of local and global factors, including soaring food and energy prices, sagging currency value, rampant joblessness and draconian Israeli restrictions on the movement of people, goods and services.

Further exacerbating these conditions is a devastating drought, unseen for decades, and which has nearly destroyed this year's grain crops upon which many Palestinian families depend for their livelihood. And the drought is not just affecting farmers. Coupled with a phenomenal rise in temperatures, it is also expected to cause a serious water shortage crisis in most localities, especially in the summer months.

Some Palestinians are already at loss as to how they will be able to cope with the steep rise in basic commodities.

Take flour, for example -- a staple for most Palestinian families. Last year, a sack of wheat flour weighing 50 kilogrammes cost 70 Israeli Shekels, or $20. Today, the same amount costs 210 Israeli Shekels or $65. Prices of other basic consumer products, such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, meat, including poultry, vegetables and fruits have likewise skyrocketed, making them nearly unaffordable for many Palestinian families. This week, a kilo of medium-quality tomatoes was sold in the Hebron region for 10 Israeli Shekels or $3.

Further, the price of electricity and cooking gas have become a real burden for the poorer segments of society, with many families unable to pay their accumulating utility bills, some resorting to burning wood for cooking. Added to that is the freefall in the value of the Jordanian Dinar, the main currency of Palestinian savings. The Dinar has lost a fourth of its value against the Israeli Shekel.

The Palestinian Authority (PA), which depends to a large extent on handouts from the West and oil-rich Arab countries, has failed to deal with the evolving crisis.

Last week, the Federation of Palestinian Labour Unions, launched a "warning strike" to protest against the high cost of living as well as the government's refusal to pay the accumulating salaries of thousands of school teachers and other civil servants appointed in 2006 following Hamas's electoral victory.

Initially, the government of Salam Fayyad rattled sabres in the face of the striking civil servants, vowing to prosecute and punish strikers. The government eventually backed down, however, promising to resolve "all issues" in a friendly manner and through dialogue.

With PA-Israeli peace talks going nowhere, and with Israel continuing to expand Jewish settlements in the West Bank, effectively annulling any remaining prospect for a viable Palestinian state, the next few months are predicted to be crucial in terms of how the Palestinians will elect to manage their national ordeal.

Al-Ahram Weekly asked Palestinian economist Hazem Kawasmi how he thought the Palestinian masses would cope with the present economic crunch. Kawasmi said he foresaw an "unprecedented" and "historic deterioration" in the Palestinian economy that would shake the political and economic system in Palestine and the region.

As to the situation in the Gaza Strip, where there is economic meltdown resulting from the hermetic Israeli blockade, Kawasmi predicts an "explosion" in the coming few weeks or months. This explosion, he argued, would again be directed towards the Egyptian border, for the sake of getting food, medicine and all kinds of goods that don't exist today in the Gaza Strip.

"One cannot expect people to live in hunger and in high rates of poverty and unemployment for a long time. There is no convincing justification why the Palestinian- Egyptian border at Rafah has not opened yet, even on temporary basis, leaving Gazan children, women and elderly people to die slowly and suffer on a daily basis," he said.

The Palestinian people in Gaza, Kawasmi said, shouldn't continue to suffer until all political problems in the region are solved, adding that unless there is an immediate economic arrangement on Rafah that will facilitate the movement of goods and people across the border, the Gazan economy will soon collapse entirely.

As to the West Bank, Kawasmi points out that Israel is taking steps to disengage itself economically from the West Bank. As soon as the so-called apartheid wall is completed, Kawasmi argues, "the basis for the new economic relationship will be, from an Israeli view point: 'We are here, and you are there, and we don't care.'"

In this context, Palestinians are growing disillusioned with peace talks with Israel. According to a poll conducted in mid-April by the Jerusalem Centre for Information and Communication, the proportion of Palestinians supporting the two-state solution fell from 53 per cent in October 2007 to 47 per cent now. Similarly, those who voiced optimism about the possibility of reaching a peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict fell substantially from 44.9 per cent last year to 36 per cent now.

According to the poll, Palestinians are voicing a variety of views as to the alternatives available to the current political deadlock, with more than 27 per cent advocating a third Intifada or uprising, and 37 per cent calling for dismantling and dissolving the PA. Nearly 13 per cent favoured a unilateral declaration of independence.

To be sure, Palestinian frustration with the peace process is more than justified since that process has so far yielded no substantive outcome despite numerous talk sessions, highlighted meetings -- involving American, Israeli and Palestinian leaders -- as well as a number of peace conferences in the US and Europe.

This week, Henry Siegman, director of the US/Middle East Project in New York, underscored the bankruptcy and disingenuousness of the peace process. "What is required of statesmen is not more peace conferences or clever adjustments to previous peace formulations but the moral and political courage to end their collaboration with the massive hoax the peace process has been turned into," he said.

"Of course," he added, "Palestinian violence must be condemned and stopped, particularly when it targets civilians. But is it not utterly disingenuous to pretend that Israel's occupation -- maintained by Israel's army- manned checkpoint and barricades, helicopter gun-ships, jet fighters, targeted assassinations, and military incursions, not to speak of the massive theft of Palestinian lands -- is not an exercise in continuous and unrelenting violence against more than three million civilians? If Israel were to renounce violence, could the occupation last even one day?"

Derrière la rhétorique sur « la détermination à finir le boulot » et « la victoire en Irak », une autre réalité transparaît, non seulement en Irak, mais aussi chez les soldats américains démobilisés.

Le 14 novembre 2007, CBS News diffusa un reportage estimant à plus de 6000 le nombre d’anciens combattants qui se sont suicidés en 2005. Un mois plus tard, de hauts responsables de l’agence des Affaires des anciens combattants (VA) ont reconnu entre eux (mais non publiquement) l’exactitude de ce rapport. Côté cour, dans un courriel au Dr Michael J. Kussman, un responsable de la santé de VA, le Dr Ira Katz, directeur de la « Santé mentale » de l’agence, écrivait que « l’on compte à peu près 18 suicides par jour » parmi la population totale d’anciens combattants, dont quatre ou cinq parmi les anciens combattants suivis par VA, ce qui met effectivement le nombre total au-dessus de la barre des 6500. Pourtant, côté rue, l’agence a déclaré à CBS qu’il n’y avait eu que 790 tentatives de suicide au cours de toute l’année 2007.

Ce courriel, entre autres, a été versé au dossier d’une plainte portée contre VA par deux organisations d’anciens combattants, dont le procès s’est ouvert le 21 avril. Le principal avocat de ces organisations, Gordon Erspamer, a déclaré à la cour : « Notre objectif ultime est d’obtenir des soins médicaux, en temps opportun, et des décisions sur les indemnités d’invalidité en temps opportun », mais « le système de VA [pour traiter les demandes] bloque les indemnités, les retards sont inadmissibles ». Dans une décision prise avant l’ouverture du procès, le juge Samuel Conti, qui préside le procès à San Francisco, avait déclaré que si les plaignants pouvaient prouver leurs accusations, cela montrerait que « des milliers d’anciens combattants, sinon plus, souffrent de blessures graves en raison de leur incapacité à se procurer les soins médicaux dont ils ont désespérément besoin et qu’ils méritent incontestablement. »

Entre-temps, l’effort pour augmenter le nombre de forces terrestres disponibles a amené l’armée et les Marines à accorder davantage de dérogations à des individus condamnés par la justice qui souhaitent s’enrôler. Selon les données du Pentagone rendues publiques par le député Henry Waxman la semaine dernière, durant l’année fiscale 2007, l’armée a accordé 511 dérogations à des recrues condamnées pour crime, contre 249 en 2006, et les Marines en ont accordé 350 contre 208 en 2006. Pour ce qui est des infractions, le chiffre a également augmenté, toutefois un peu moins. Dans une lettre au sous-secrétaire de la Défense chargé du Personnel, Waxman reconnaissait qu’il puisse y avoir des raisons valables de procéder à des dérogations, tout en se demandant si « l’augmentation significative du recrutement de personnes reconnues coupables de crime n’était pas le résultat de la pression que la guerre d’Irak exerce sur les forces armées ».

Le mouvement du Hamas a affirmé qu'on ne peut pas parler de trêve avec l'occupation israélienne sous l'ombre de ses crimes continuels contre le peuple palestinien dont le dernier massacre qui a ciblé toute une famille à Beit Hanoun, au nord de la bande de Gaza.

Le porte-parole du Hamas, Aymen Taha a dit, aujourd'hui lundi 28/4, dans une déclaration spéciale au centre palestinien d'information en commentaire au nouveau génocide, que ces massacres viennent dans le cadre d'une série de crimes de l'ennemi sioniste qui vise à faire échouer les efforts de la trêve.

Il a ajouté : "nous voyons que ces crimes sionistes sont très dangereux sous l'ombre d'un silence arabe, et que l'Égypte doit travailler pour cesser les crimes sionistes".

Le porte-parole du Hamas a souligné que ce massacre montre que l'ennemi sioniste ne veut pas de trêve et qu'il vise de l'a faire échouer parce qu'elle se prépare à lancer une vaste opération militaire contre Gaza.

Taha a affirmé que les factions de la résistance ont le droit à répondre aux crimes de l'occupation et que le monde doit comprendre que le problème principal est l'occupation.

Les forces de l'occupation israéliennes ont perpétré, ce matin lundi 28/4, un nouveau massacre lorsqu'elles ont lancé plusieurs obus sur une maison d'un citoyen palestinien dans la ville de Beit Hanoun, au nord de la bande de Gaza, en tuant sept palestiniens dont une mère et ses quatre enfants alors que plusieurs autres ont été blessés.

Des témoins oculaires ont dit au correspondant du centre palestinien d'information que l'artillerie de l'armée de l'occupation sioniste a bombardé la maison de la famille d'Abou Moutiq, située près des tours d'Al-Awda dans la ville de Beit Hanoun, en la détruisant complètement sur les têtes de ses habitants.

Les sources médicales ont dit que les corps des six martyrs sont arrivés aux hôpitaux dont quatre enfants frères qui ont moins de six ans.

Les citoyens palestiniens ont fait appel aux propriétaires des véhicules et voitures à se diriger vers le lieu du crime sioniste pour transporter les martyrs et les blessés aux hôpitaux après l'arrêt des ambulance à cause du manque de carburant qui a paralysé la vie dans la bande de Gaza.

Ce massacre sioniste vient au moment où les factions palestiniennes se dirigent au Caire pour discuter de la trêve coordonnée par l'Égypte entre les factions de la résistance palestinienne et l'occupation israélienne.

Le leader du mouvement du Djihad islamique, Khaled Al-Batch a dit que les massacres sionistes dont le dernier crime qui en assassinant une famille palestinienne complète, ce matin lundi 28/4, ainsi que les incursions continuelles des forces occupantes sont liés à la politique sioniste connue qui vise à obliger le peuple palestinien à se soumettre et d'accepter ses conditions.

Dans une déclaration spéciale au Centre Palestinien d'Information, Al-Batch a dit en commentaire au massacre sioniste que l'occupation refuse la trêve à travers ses crimes et incursions continuels contre notre peuple et que tous côtés concernés doivent porter leurs responsabilités envers ces massacres sionistes, notamment les pays arabes et le conseil international de la sécurité qui garde encore son silence ferme, depuis plusieurs années.

Le leader du Djihad islamique a déclaré que ces massacres visent à faire échouer les efforts égyptiens qui visent à réaliser la trêve en confirmant leur responsabilité.

Il a ajouté que l'ennemi sioniste vise à frapper le rôle égyptien à travers des crimes quotidiens contre les palestiniens dans la bande de Gaza.

Le mouvement de la résistance du Hamas a affirmé que les palestiniens refusent totalement tout abandon aux droits légitimes du peuple palestinien, notamment le droit au retour des réfugiés, et la ville d'Al Qods dont n'importe quel responsable arabe ou palestinien ne pourrait y renoncer.

Le porte parole du Hamas, Dr. Sami Abou Zouhri, a dit lors de sa déclaration de presse, du dimanche 27/4, que les décisions américaines qui considèrent la Palestine occupée comme "un état juif", ne vaut pas l'ancre avec lequel ces expressions ont été écrites.

Il a souligné que ces décisions américaines sont refusées totalement et que le peuple palestinien ne leurs donne aucune valeur.

Abou Zouhri a affirmé que les palestiniens ne renonceraient jamais à leurs principes et droits légaux, tout en soulignant que cette étape est une période de développement de la résistance pour face à l'occupation et défendre les intérêts palestiniens légitimes.

Il a montré également que l'attachement du peuple palestinien et du Hamas à leurs droits et principes vont pousser le monde à reconnaître le mouvement du Hamas et les droits des palestiniens, tout en appelant à l'importance d'insister sur le maintien fort au choix de la résistance et le refus total à toute concession en faveur de l'occupation.

Une idée nouvelle a fait, ce dernier temps, couler beaucoup d'encre. Sont nombreux les discours, les déclarations, les articles qui disent, explicitement ou par insinuation, que le programme du Hamas se rapproche de plus en plus de celui du Fatah. Il ne reste qu'un fil pour qu'il se fonde dans le fameux « accord national palestinien » ! Un leader du Fatah, membre du parlement du Conseil Palestinien – effectivement suspendu par les partisans de l'OLP et par l'occupant – vient de dire que la dernière déclaration du Hamas concernant un Etat palestinien sur les frontières de 67 est une avancée positive. Même si, selon lui, le Hamas n'a pas le droit de parler de négociations. C'est seulement le président Abbas qui en a le droit. Il ajoute encore que puisque le Hamas se rapproche de la position nationale, il devra alors en tirer des conséquences et modifier sa politique. En premier lieu, il devra livrer Gaza à Mahmoud Abbas, le seul représentant du peuple, dit-il !!

La dernière position politique du Hamas n'est pas nouvelle. Tout le monde le sait. Cependant, il y a des questions qui se posent d'elles-mêmes.

Par exemple, que signifie « l'accord national » ? Quand cet accord a-t-il été réalisé ? Quels sont les points communs entre le Hamas et l'OLP ? Si un accord existe, sera-t-il politique, stratégique ou même tactique ?

Pour le groupe d'Oslo-Annapolis, l'affaire sera simple. L'accord national, c'est la légitimité palestinienne. Et la légitimité, pour ce groupe, c'est le comité exécutif de l'OLP. Il oublie cependant que cette organisation est déjà un corps inerte depuis pas mal de temps. La majorité de ses membres sont des vieillards, des morts. Ajoutons à cela le fait que le Conseil National n'existe plus, ni constitutionnellement, ni historiquement, ni moralement, ni logiquement... Ajoutons encore le fait que Mahmoud Abbas n'avait eu que 27% des voix, à l'intérieur seulement !

Alors, de quel accord national parlent-ils ? Est-ce une marque exclusive monopolisée par l'entreprise OLP ? Ces principes sont-ils descendus du ciel, la nuit du destin ? Et quel crédit donnerait-on aux élections qui avaient mis en avant un nouveau parti, un nouveau programme, des idées nouvelles ? Et lorsqu'ils parlent de négociations, parlent-ils de ces compromis secrets entamé par l'OLP depuis les années soixante du siècle dernier ? Ou parlent-ils de ce document annulant le droit au retour des réfugiés ? Ou de celui qui remplace le document d'entente nationale par une reconnaissance d'Israël ? Félicitation pour cette position nationale ! La vérité, c'est que ces gens-là avaient lancé un gros ballon de mensonge. Et ce sont eux les premiers qui y ont cru, et pas seulement. Ils laissent âme et corps pour la défendre, après l'avoir transformer en une position nationale !

Les allégations qui veulent insinuer que le mouvement du Hamas se rapproche de l'OLP ne sont que des illusions pour se rassurer. Et personne ne croit à leur fantasme. Tout le monde sait que les deux programmes et idées, ainsi que les moyens mis en place pour les appliquer, sont radicalement contradictoires. L'Organisation de la Libération de la Palestine (OLP) ne vise plus la libération, mais la négociation. Ce ne serait pas le moment de changer son nom pour l'organisation de négociations. Laisser tomber le sang des martyrs et toutes les souffrances du peuple palestinien, peut-on toujours appeler cela libération ?

A savoir que le Hamas n'avait pas participé à ces pourparlers secrets avec l'ennemi, à Oslo. Ce n'est pas lui qui avait imposé au peuple palestinien des décisions qui s'avéraient plus tard mortellement dangereuses, économiquement comme politiquement. A savoir aussi que l'OLP avait signé des accords catastrophiques, à l'image de celui qui consiste à combattre la résistance et à donner main libre à l'occupant pour ronger la terre palestinienne, par un jeu nommé "la paix".

Quant au Hamas, il ne travaille que pour une libération. La dernière annonce de Michaal n'est qu'une confirmation de celle faite en 1988 par le cheikh Yassine. Et sur le terrain, la résistance ne fait qu'augmenter en force, sans être combattue par le Hamas, comme le fait l'OLP. Non seulement il soutien avec force le droit au retour, mais il utilise de plus les armes pour le confirmer. Il ne se réfère pas aux négociations pour le rendre absurde, comme font les autres !

L'ennemi sioniste sait avant tout le monde que l'ancienne déclaration du Hamas est renouvelée, par diplomatie, pas plus. Il sait aussi que le Hamas n'est guère en accord avec l'OLP. Il est en contradiction avec elle aussi bien stratégiquement que tactiquement. En fait, le Hamas est une organisation islamique qui résiste pour libérer la patrie, toute la patrie de la mer jusqu'au fleuve. Il travaille phase par phase, avec un stratégie solide. Pour sa part, l'OLP n'est qu'une organisation vieillie. Elle ne peut rien faire, que négocier, qu'accepter l'Etat d'occupation, que s'incliner à ses exigences. Si l'idée du Hamas, que son nom signifie ferveur, se rapproche de celle d'OLP, le Hamas ne signifiera plus ferveur, mais plutôt absurdité.

Le mouvement du Hamas a affirmé son refus des décisions du congrès américain qui a considéré la Palestine comme un Etat pour les Juifs, tout en considérant que cette décision représente le racisme de l'occupation israélienne.

Le porte-parole du mouvement du Hamas Fawzi Barhoum a dit aujourd'hui dimanche 27/4, dans des déclarations de presse, que son mouvement affirme son refus de ces décisions racistes de l'occupation sioniste, et qu'il les considère de très dangereuses.

Le mouvement du Hamas a affirmé qu'il va poursuivre la résistance par tous les moyens contre ces projets qui visent à annuler le droit au retour des réfugiés palestiniens et à liquider la question palestinienne.

Il a ajouté que cette décision raciste représente une reconnaissance d'un nouvel exil des Palestiniens qui habitent dans les territoires palestiniens occupés en 1948.

Barhoum a poursuivi que la position du président américain George Bush, lors de sa dernière rencontre avec le président de l'autorité palestinienne Mahmoud Abbas, affirme la position américaine qui vise à gagner du temps pour servir les intérêts de l'occupation.

Le porte-parole du Hamas a ajouté que cette décision du congrès américain dévoile les plans du lobby sioniste qui vise à liquider la question palestinienne et affirme son contrôle total sur les milieux politiques américains.

Barhoum a déclaré que ces positions américaines affirment également l'échec des milieux américains à soutenir le peuple palestinien sous l'ombre du contrôle du lobby sioniste. En conséquence, les pays arabes et le président Abbas doivent prendre une position commune et forte refusant les positions américaines qui soutiennent le terrorisme sioniste.

Il a appelé à la formation d'un axe arabe et islamique pour soutenir le peuple palestinien, ainsi que ses droits et ses territoires.

Barhoum a appelé le président Abbas à arrêter de se soumettre à la direction américaine et à se libérer de son contrôle pour faire face à cette décision raciste.

Both Israel and the US have jointly planned such attack which has been put off because of their failure in the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan where they are committing the most atrocious crimes. Such atrocities are not foreign to the Europeans. The genocide against Black slaves, the Vietnamese, the Native Americans, Australians and Palestinians bear witness to that. The approach was and is obliteration through terror.

The Iranian President has always maintained that his nuclear research is for peaceful use, while both the US and Israel possess nuclear weapons which clearly threaten the world, needless to say that the US actually used those weapons on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But Zionist propaganda wants people to believe that there is a possibility that the Iranian nuclear programme might give them the ability to build nuclear weapons which they might use against Israel, hence the conspiracy to attack Iran instead of finding a solution against the European occupiers of Palestine and restore the Palestinian legitimate State. Europeans have always invented excuses to attack and invade other countries in order to maintain political, economic and military supremacy. They even ‘justified’ slavery by likening Black Africans to animals. The racist Jewish Philadelphia physician Samuel Morton said that : « the brains of Germans and Anglo-Saxons were the largest of all, those of American Indians considerably smaller, and those of blacks smaller still... », for which he was praised.

Jewish Europeans have found an ally in Hillary Clinton who is presently seeking Democrat presidential nomination against half-breed Barack Obama in the US primaries because they consider Clinton’s distant ‘Jewish ancestry’ as « almost one of their own ». Hillary’s grandmother, née Della Murray of Aurora in Illinois, married a Russian Jew, Max Rosenberg. But this was Della’s second marriage, after the birth of Hillary’s mother, Dorothy Emma Howell in 1919. Although Della never converted to Judaism, the affinity of Hillary Clinton for the Jewish-European occupiers of Palestine is not in doubt. Jewish analysts, such as Hank Sheinkopf, in the US and Israel argue that this makes it easier for Jewish-Europeans to « connect with her ».

Blessed with the Jewish support, Hillary Clinton feels on top of the world and vows to « obliterate Iran » if Iran attacks Israel while she was President. She made this threat on 22nd April 2008 as Pennsylvanians voted in a crucial primary [Metro, April 23, 2008], since identifying with Israeli terror and killing Muslims has become a very popular thing to do. Pourquoi l'unité palestinienne n'est pas une option pour Abbas

Quelques heures seulement après l'affrontement Hamas-Fatah à Gaza en juin dernier, c'est un président de l'Autorité palestinienne Mahmoud Abbas semblant ferme et posé qui serrait les mains des membres de son nouveau gouvernement d'urgence. Pour s'assurer que sa démarche apparaisse aussi légitime que possible, il a émis des décrets qui mettaient hors la loi les milices armées du Hamas, et également suspendu des clauses importantes de la Loi fondamentale palestinienne, qui avait jusque là servi de constitution.

La Loi fondamentale stipule que pour qu'il soit constitutionnel, tout gouvernement doit être approuvé par le Parlement palestinien. Abbas a simplement décrété l'invalidité de cette clause, dérobant ainsi aux Palestiniens une de leurs plus grandes réussites collectives – la démocratie.

Ce système, lorsqu'il est véritablement représentatif, est bien sûr précieux et significatif. Si l'on considère les circonstances impossibles dans lesquelles la démocratie palestinienne en particulier a été engendrée et nourrie – occupation militaire, pression internationale, extrême pauvreté – c'était également profondément historique. Contrairement aux idées reçues qui ont suivi l'occupation US de l'Irak, les Arabes se montraient capables, en fin de compte, de conduire un processus démocratique.

Malheureusement, la réalisation de la démocratie ne garantit pas sa conservation.

Presque immédiatement après la victoire du Hamas aux élections de janvier 2006, tant les forces locales qu'internationales se sont ruées pour étouffer et renverser le résultat de ce vote. Des intellectuels prétentieux ont écrit sur l'incompatibilité entre Islam et démocratie, des hommes politiques ont dénigré la victoire du Hamas comme étant le signe de l'envahissement du militarisme et de l'extrémisme, et des dirigeants mondiaux se sont rapprochés du "légitime" Abbas, comme opposition à "l'illégitime" Hamas. C'était bien sûr ridicule.

Pour Israël, l'affrontement entre le Fatah d'Abbas et le Hamas islamique fut une chance en or, comparable aux bénéfices glanés lors d'un autre moment opportun, les attaques terroristes du 11 septembre, que le leader du Likud israélien, Benjamin Netanyahu, a qualifiées récemment, et ce n'est pas la première fois, de "bonnes" pour Israël (Haaretz, 16 avril).

Le combat palestinienne fut aussi une bonne chose pour Israël ; ç'en était fini de cette énervante démocratie palestinienne faisant de la concurrence à l'auto proclamée "seule démocratie du Moyen Orient" d'Israël. De plus, les Palestiniens ont été une fois de plus dépeints comme la populace incontrôlée, incapable de produire des artisans pour la paix responsables ni de créer un environnement de "sécurité", que l'Etat d'Israël clame si souvent convoiter.

De même pour Abbas et ses ministres, ils savaient fort bien que l'affection américano-israélienne de fraîche date à leur égard était conditionnelle. Après tout, ils sont les mêmes personnes, occupant les mêmes postes et jouant les mêmes rôles qu'ils ont toujours joués. Ils sont les ministres, les conseillers, les amis et les responsables de l'Autorité palestinienne de feu le Président Yasser Arafat, qu'ils évitaient soigneusement, comme leur Président. Ils ont aussi très bien compris leur nouvel intérêt à représenter l'antithèse au Hamas. Au lieu de refuser le rôle de larbins, les ministres du gouvernement Abbas sont entrés dans le jeu.

Soudain, le conflit, qui apparaissait jusque là comme étant entre Israël et les Palestiniens s'est transformé comme conflit entre Abbas et ses soutiens (Israël et les USA) d'un côté, et le Hamas tout seul de l'autre. Le problème, comme rapporté dans les principaux médias, a cessé d'être les colonies, l'occupation et les violations des lois internationales, mais les "forces de l'ombre" antidémocrates à Gaza opposées aux forces de paix et de civilisation à Ramallah et à Tel Aviv.

Pour donner du poids à ces images hautement trompeuses par une "action", Abbas et le premier ministre israélien Ehud Olmert ont amorcé leur recherche d'une paix illusoire. Cela a commencé à Annapolis et fut suivi de séries de discussions aussi régulières que vaines. Bien peu sont ceux qui espéraient que ces rencontres déboucheraient sur des résultats significatifs ; leur seul objectif était d'isoler davantage le Hamas et de souligner l'alliance Abbas-Israël.

Pour que le spectacle puisse continuer, le Hamas et le Fatah n'ont pas été autorisés à se réconcilier, du moins jusqu'à ce que Israël et les USA décident de changer de tactique. Ceci ne signifie pas bien sûr qu'il n'y a aucune base pour une réconciliation. Les dissensions palestiniennes sont à la mesure de la capitulation devant un ennemi dur et enhardi. Récemment, nous avons vu l'Accord du Caire 2005, l'Accord de la Mecque 2007 et l'Accord du Yémen de mars 2008.

Mais pour obtenir l'approbation d'Israël en Cisjordanie – et pour éviter le sort tragique de Gaza – Abbas n'est pas intéressé par les points d'accord, mais plutôt par les points de discorde. Al Jazeera a rapporté que Azzam Al-Ahmad, le membre du Fatah qui a signé le document Hamas-Fatah en mars, a été clairement réprimandé pour avoir laisser Abbas "dans le noir" sur la nature de l'accord. Al-Ahmad a dit avec insistance que Abbas savait exactement ce que stipulait l'accord. Il semble qu'un document qui mettait simplement en relief une série d'actions pour une pleine réconciliation entre les deux partis était un trop gros morceau à avaler pour Israël.

Même le sang des plus de 120 Palestiniens à Gaza, qui ont été tués en l'espace de six jours au début mars, n'a pas semblé être une raison assez forte pour passer outre les menaces d'Israël sur l'unité palestinienne en signifiant la fin de l'inutile "processus de paix".

Et puis, bien sûr, il y a la piste de l'argent. Quelques jours avant le fiasco du Yémen, les USA ont accepté de transférer 150 millions de $ de soutien à l'Autorité palestinienne, comme "partie des promesses passées pour renforcer le gouvernement du Président Mahmoud Abbas." Le renforcer contre qui ? Certainement pas contre Israël.

Alors que les efforts louables de John Dugard, des Nations Unies, de l'ancien président US Jimmy Carter et de l'archevêque Desmond Tutu ont attiré une attention hautement nécessaire sur le sort des Palestiniens, et ceux de Gaza en particulier, les responsables de l'Autorité palestinienne s'activent à participer aux conférences des donateurs et à publier des communiqués vides que personne ne lit. Ils agissent comme s'ils étaient un parti neutre pris entre des fanatiques religieux et Israël. Leur combat ne semble plus, même de loin, relié à la Palestine ou à son peuple. Ce n'est certainement pas la qualité d'un mouvement ou d'une direction de libération où que ce soit, dans quelque période de l'histoire que ce soit, récente ou ancienne. Abbas et Fayyad semblent faire exception.

Paris, le 22 avril (Nouvelle Solidarité) —Le Parisien du 21 avril révèle une énorme opération d’infiltration de l’ambassade des Etats-Unis dans les banlieues françaises. Selon le quotidien, ces opérations qui ont vu le jour au lendemain du 11 septembre 2001, ont été renforcées après l’invasion d’Irak par l’armée américaine et surtout, après les émeutes de 2005, présentées à tort par les médias internationaux comme étant le produit d’un Islam radical. Justin Vaisse, un expert des Etats-Unis et de l’Islam explique que, traumatisés par ces expressions d’anti-américanisme, les Etats-Unis souhaiteraient comprendre ce phénomène pour mieux le contrer. Selon un universitaire cité par Le Parisien qui avait été contacté par deux « américains » dans ce contexte, le but était, plus prosaïquement, de « mettre la main sur le réseau associatif, et comprendre en passant du temps dans les banlieues européennes comment on pouvait basculer dans un commando terroriste ». Méfiant, il avait à cette époque, refusé de les amener dans les banlieues.

L’ingérence de l’ambassade des Etats-Unis prend la forme de prises de contact tous azimuts avec les dirigeants ou dirigeants potentiels de ces banlieues, les invitant à l’ambassade, les amenant dans des voyages de « formation » aux Etats-Unis, et finançant abondamment leurs associations en France. Le Parisien révèle en particulier, comment trois élus des banlieues les plus chaudes des émeutes de 2005, ont été invités à un déjeuner de travail dans un appartement chic du XVIème arrondissement avec l’attaché culturel de l’ambassade des Etats-Unis. Le cœur de la discussion portait sur la mise en œuvre dans les banlieues françaises, des mêmes programmes sociaux que ceux appliqués dans les ghettos de Philadelphie où des artistes de renom, travaillant avec la population, ont repeint les murs de la ville. En avril, une dizaine de lycéens du 9-3 ont été reçus par l’ambassadeur des Etats-Unis et sa femme, dans leur résidence parisienne. Ce projet est considéré comme une telle priorité, que lorsque Dan Fried, le secrétaire d’Etat américain aux affaires européennes est venu en France l’hiver dernier, c’est ce milieu associatif qu’il rencontra en premier !

L’article explique également que nombre d’associations et parfois même des mouvements politiques, apparus ces derniers temps, tels des OVNI volant dans le ciel français, ont été nourris, voir même engendrés par ce nouveau prosélytisme de l’ambassade des Etats-Unis. Certains noms sont cités comme ayant plus ou moins subi l’influence de cette stratégie, tels celui d’Amirouche Laïdi du Club Averroès, de Stéphane Pocrane, candidat aux élections présidentielles de 2007, de Mohamed Hamidi du Bondy Blog, de Karim Zeribi, président du Parlement des banlieues et de Patrick Lozès, président du CRAN (Conseil représentatif des Associations Noires). Lozès qui milite pour la création d’un lobby noir a même admis avoir reçu des « sommes conséquentes » d’une Fondation états-unienne, et le Parisien prétend que « sans les 3000 euros de l’ambassade », Adji Ahoudian de l’association « Braves garçons d’Afrique » aurait eu du mal à boucler le budget du festival Afro 2005. Enfin, un autre article évoque les voyages, tous frais payés par l’administration Bush, d’Ali, de Karim ou de Fayçal, aux Etats-Unis.

Les brigades d'Al-Qassam ont effectué, mercredi dernier, le 16 avril, une opération héroïque et de qualité, c’est le moins qu’on puisse dire. Trois soldats d'élites de l'armée d'occupation israélienne y ont trouvé la mort.

Cette opération a fait couler beaucoup d'encre. En effet, elle est porteuse d'innombrables indications. La branche militaire du Hamas se montre aussi développée que l'armée israélienne moins efficace. De plus, elle vient quelques jours seulement après la réussite de la résistance à s’infiltrer dans la position militaire de Nahel Oz. Une position tant fortifiée.

Quant aux pertes, cette opération a augmenté le nombre de morts israéliens à huit soldats, pendant les trois mois et demi de cette année 2008, ressent le journal hébreu Maariv.

Montée en puissance

Si le cours des choses va à ce rythme, il y aura 25 soldats israéliens tués jusqu'à la fin de l'année 2008, contre 3 seulement pour l'année passée, compare Omayr Ribabort, analyste du même journal. Cela ne montre-t-il pas, se demande-t-il, la montée en puissance de la résistance palestinienne, aussi bien sur le plan des armes que sur celui de la tactique militaire ?

La capacité de la résistance palestinienne se rapproche, de plus en plus, de celle du Hezbollah libanais. A Gaza, la résistance étudie la manière de travailler de l'armée israélienne pour en tirer des leçons et pour mieux l'affronter, résume Cohen Anayte, un autre analyste du même journal.

Par ailleurs, la presse israélienne remarque la variation des opérations pratiquées par la résistance palestinienne sur toute la longueur du mur de démarcation, tellement fortifiée. Il y a, entre autres, les obus, les mines, les pièges, les snipers, les confrontations en face à face...

La récente bataille passée à l'est d'Al-Baridj (le champ de la mort) était trop difficile pour les soldats israéliens. Ils avouent que les combattants du Hamas sont durs, très durs. La mort de plusieurs soldats avait provoqué un grand choc terrible dans les rangs de cette armée. Elle s'en est alors prise aux civils. En quelques heures seulement, elle a tué 18 Palestiniens dont un photographe de l'agence de presse Reuters, ainsi que plusieurs enfants.

L'attaque

Tactiquement, les résistants n'attendent pas toujours les incursions des soldats sionistes pour les affronter. Désormais, ils les attaquent. L'attaque a ceci d'atout qu'elle permet aux résistants de décider du lieu et du moment de la confrontation. L'ennemi perd la surprise. Il aura cependant le choc qu'il mérite.

Dans la plupart de ses guerres, l'armée israélienne profite de l'effet de surprise. Et elle essaie toujours de mener ses combats sur les terrains de l'adversaire. C'est pourquoi son choc était incomparable, lorsque les missiles de la résistance libanaise tombaient dans la profondeur de son entité, durant la guerre qu'elle avait conduite contre le Liban en 2006. La situation actuelle est semblable. Ses casernes, ses responsables, ses soldats, ses villes, ses colonies, tous sont visés. Très récemment, son ministre de la sécurité intérieure aurait été pris dans une embuscade.

Stratégie

Cette montée en puissance de la branche militaire du Hamas aura des conséquences politiques et stratégiques, croit l'analyste Roben Ben Yeshay, dans le journal hébreu Yadiot Ahronot.

Tout d'abord, les décideurs du gouvernement d'occupation pourraient se trouver obligés d'accepter les conditions du Hamas pour une trêve.

Puis, le Hamas croit que la guerre qu'il mène sur ses frontières mettra ces décideurs dans une hésitation totale quant à une invasion de grande envergure à Gaza. Ils ont désormais peur d'en subir des pertes considérables. Leur armée subit déjà de grandes pertes dans des terrains découverts. Comment seraient alors les choses, si la guerre se déroule dans des rues densément peuplées ? Comment serait le moral de leurs soldats ?

En troisième lieu, ces opérations n'entament pas la réputation du Hamas, sur le plan international. En fait, elles n'ont pas les mêmes effets que les opérations martyres ou les missiles qui frappent dans la profondeur de l'entité. Ces derniers frappent les civils, si on croit les Israéliens.

Du reste, ces opérations donnent à la résistance palestinienne tout le soutien moral, toute la confiance, toute l'audace dont elle a besoin pour casser l'arrogance de l'armée d'occupation. Briser le mythe de l'armée invincible.

L'initiative

Les branches de la résistance palestinienne maintiennent toujours l'initiative dans leur guerre. Par contre, l'armée sioniste la perd, en dépit de toutes les opérations qu'elle mène, à l'image de celle de « L'hiver chaud », qui était un véritable holocauste contre les civils.

Dans le fond et dans l'état actuel des choses, la résistance palestinienne a mis le gouvernement israélien dans une mauvaise posture. Il hésite à s'engager dans une vaste opération terrestre. Il craint les pertes humaines, constatant les opérations de qualité de la résistance. Il lui reste alors la conclusion d'une trêve avec le Hamas. Mais la situation actuelle ne la lui permet pas. Toute trêve serait considérée comme une victoire pour le Hamas. Et le gouvernement israélien ne veut pas lui donner cette joie !

9/11 Was Good for Us! -- The Case against Israel

More than six years after 9/11, the Israel angle becomes more and more acute -- and it becomes harder and harder to be obtuse about it. The circumstantial case for Israeli involvement in the terror attacks grows stronger with each new revelation, old evasion or repeated charge of "anti-Semitism" leveled against those who dare to ask questions.

Netanyahu's Wednesday remarks suggest that Israel had a motive in the terrorist events, but they are hardly new material. Indeed, on September 11, 2001, shortly after the collapse of the Twin Towers, the same Netanyahu was asked by reporters how the then-fresh cataclysm would affect US/Israel relations:

"It's very good," he said, then added "Well, not very good, but it will generate immediate sympathy (for Israel)."

He wasn't the only one who had reason to celebrate the terror attacks. American neocons, closely aligned to Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party, had already published their desire to see a "new Pearl Harbor" to catalyze American public opinion for an imperial "new American Century." The document that contains the "new Pearl Harbor" line, Restructuring America's Defenses, was accepted by an incoming Bush administration in 2000. In large part it was a repetition of ideas accepted by Israeli right-wingers in the 1996 document, A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm.

Protocols of Zion

"The New York Times reported Thursday that a group of five men had set up video cameras aimed at the Twin Towers before the attack on Tuesday, and were congratulating one another afterwards." -- Fox News, Sept. 14, 2001, "One Arrested, Others Detained at NY Airports"

Shortly after 9/11, Jewish film director Mark Levin found that more and more New Yorkers believed that Israel was behind the terror attacks. Accordingly he examined the various unexplained facts and unsubstantiated rumors that were fueling local public opinion in his boldly-named Protocols of Zion.

The documentary took its title from the controversial underground political classic, The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, which alleged that a worldwide Jewish conspiracy is the unseen force in shaping international events.

In Protocols of Zion Levin addressed the notorious "dancing Israelis," believed to be Mossad agents, who were filming and celebrating the ongoing attack on the World Trade Center when they were arrested by local police. In a popular YouTube clip excerpted from the documentary, three of the arrested Israelis offer a dubious explanation of their 9/11 activities on an Israeli television program in November 2001.

Friendly Fox


Shortly after 9/11, Fox News investigated the forbidden topic of Israeli involvement in the attacks. While Fox News still posts a link to the transcript, it abruptly took the video down shortly after airing it, reportedly due to pressure from the Israel lobby. The official government investigations that Carl Cameron's report prompted were quietly dropped.

A few extracts from the first installment of the four-part series gives a hint as to how devastating real journalism can be:

"Since Sept. 11, more than 60 Israelis have been arrested or detained, either under the new patriot anti-terrorism law, or for immigration violations. A handful of active Israeli military were among those detained, according to investigators, who say some of the detainees also failed polygraph questions when asked about alleged surveillance activities against and in the United States.

"There is no indication that the Israelis were involved in the 9/11 attacks, but investigators suspect that the Israelis may have gathered intelligence about the attacks in advance, and not shared it. A highly placed investigator said there are "tie-ins." But when asked for details, he flatly refused to describe them, saying, "Evidence linking these Israelis to 9/11 is classified. I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It's classified information."

"Fox News has learned that one group of Israelis, spotted in North Carolina recently, is suspected of keeping an apartment in California to spy on a group of Arabs who the United States is also investigating for links to terrorism. Numerous classified documents obtained by Fox News indicate that even prior to Sept. 11, as many as 140 other Israelis had been detained or arrested in a secretive and sprawling investigation into suspected espionage by Israelis in the United States." -- Fox News, "Israeli Spy Ring" (by Carl Cameron)

Muslim Murmers

Every extract or quote in my essay has come from a pro-Israel mainstream media source, and it's difficult to see how anyone could accuse Ha'aretz, Mark Levin, the Israeli 9/11 suspects or Fox News of anti-Semitism. Nevertheless, for committing the thought crime of putting it all together, I shall certainly be accused of anti-Semitism.

In this topsy-turvy post-9/11 new world order, the label "anti-Semite" is the price one pays for asserting that two plus two equals four. George Orwell, that most relevant of modern writers, predicted things would be like this. On the other hand, it is acceptable -- in fact, encouraged -- to assert that "Islamo-fascists" are capable of saying and doing all kinds of evil.

A few days after the attacks, Osama bin Laden denied any role in them:

"The US government has consistently blamed me for being behind every occasion its enemies attack it. I would like to assure the world that I did not plan the recent attacks, which seem to have been planned by people for personal reasons." -- CNN, Sept. 17, 2001, "Bin Laden says he wasn't behind attacks".

Soon afterward, the Bush administration "discovered" a videotaped confession, so we wouldn't have to worry whom Bin Laden was accusing of being the perpetrators. Never mind that Arabic experts pronounced the videotaped to be a phony.

To this very day Muslims have tried to muddy the waters when it comes to 9/11. Take Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, for example, who just Wednesday insinuated that the official US story was, at best, in error:

"Four or five years ago, a suspicious event occurred in New York. A building collapsed and they said that 3000 people had been killed, but never published their names. ... Under this pretext, they attacked Afghanistan and Iraq and since then, a million people have been killed only in Iraq." -- Ha'aretz, Apr. 16, 2008, "Report: Netanyahu says 9/11 terror attacks good for Israel".

Without a doubt, Ahmadinejad is stretching things a bit. First, the names of all 2,749 World Trade Center victims were unreported only for five years -- but were read on the fifth anniversary of 9/11. Further, the Bush administration has not killed a million Iraqis. As of the latest report by the British Lancet, we have killed a mere two thirds of a million.

After Netanyahu finished his remarks about how good 9/11 has been for Israel, he launched into a tirade about the evil of Iran and Ahmadinejad. Thank God we have Netanyahu to let us know who our real enemies are.

Manipulation des médias par la police et les services de renseignements

La propagande garde du corps du mensonge.

La propagande est un excellent moyen pour rallier certains peuples oisifs, souvent aux prix d'amplifications, d’altérations voir aux prix de mensonges abusivement répété et mis en relief par des experts, des politiques, des médias etc…le but principal de ces mises en scènes permettent la validation des projets réfléchies depuis des années. Souvent, ces projets sont aux bénéfices de groupes d’influence, de firme, ou d’entreprise appartenant a ces mêmes experts et anciens directeurs ou responsables d’un quelconque secteur...



En exemple, la meilleure et la plus visible des propagandes est celle de C dans l’air qui attire toute sorte de spécialiste en terrorisme, en securité etc. ces derniers acceptent, ou jouent leur rôle de propagande avec un grand interet dissimulé :

ÉRIC DENÉCÉ : Directeur du Centre français de recherche sur le renseignement), 43 ans, ne rechigne pas à décliner clairement sa profession : spécialiste du renseignement. Reconverti dans le privé, cet ancien militaire travaille à découvert depuis une quinzaine d’années et a même créé, avec l’université de Bordeaux 4, un diplôme dédié au renseignement et aux services secrets.

Voici ce qu’il dit lors d’une interview :

"Pour quels genres de missions fait-on appel à vos… conseils ?"

"E.D : Il peut s’agir d’aider une entreprise à gagner un marché. Ou, à l’inverse, elle peut vouloir se prémunir face à l’agressivité d’un concurrent déloyal."

Eric denecé s’invente un parcours au Cambodge, en Asie et même un poste auprès du ministère de la défense. Tout ceci, sans les moindres preuves, datations ou confirmation . des génies de la propagandes invités souvent par les mêmes (Yves Calvi) et qui utilisent l’outil de la peur pour précipiter leur entreprise en renseignement, de sécurité , de miliciens ou autres.

Alors que nous nous focalisons sur l’aspect militariste de la propagande, il y en a une plus machiavélique ; celle qui passe sous forme de diplomatie, d’expertise ou d’analyse implicitement belliciste.

Souvent la tactique de la propagande est difficilement decelable mais suit un schema bien definit :

- utilisation d’une histoire selective pour nourrir un objectif bien precis : pour envahir l’Afghanistan il fallait parler de la bourca. Le 11 septembre préparé dans la grotte de ce pays n’aurait pas suffit.

- évoquer une histoire partielle des faits : vous pourrez par exemple parcourir les 600 pages de la commission du 911 sans JAMAIS trouver une quelconque référence au WTC 7. c’est la faiblesse essentielle de la propagande belliciste.

-renforcer les motivations et les raisons d’une intervention militariste : par exemple, les chaînes américaines (foxnews, CNN etc) invitent souvent d’anciens généraux, d’agent du renseignement pour appuyer les évolutions de la nouvelle politique. En France, nous sommes tout autant capable de faire parler les memes faux experts : Jean-Charles Brisard et Guillaume Dasquié, les pseudos-experts ont reconnu s’être trompé sur le financement des terroristes musulmans. Et pourtant ils étaient une référence en matière de terrorisme international, et démontraient pitoyablement que tout venaient des musulmans. Bref, retour en arrière, ils déclarent avoir raconté des mensonges depuis le début.
-une action de la propagande la plus répandu, mais peu perceptible est celle de la « demonisation » des « ennemis ». le meilleur moyen pour éviter a la masse de comprendre ou d’analyser la situation.
-l’autre moyen pour asseoir la propagande c’est d’utiliser des discours non discordant afin de créer un pseudo debat. Le meilleur exemple est celui, encore une, de C dans l’air. Inviter toujours les memes, les opposer (simuler une opposition) et permettre ainsi au telespectateur de croire a un vrai debat ou un vrai faux dialogue.

Parmi tous ces outils une véritable entreprise de dénigrement, de haine , de xénophobie et d’islamophobie est alimenté par toute sorte de personnalité ou de politique afin d’alimenter le rejet. Cela ne laissera aucunement place a l’analyse même pour le moins haineux ou le plus éduqué. Combiné a cela les émotions du patriotisme, de l’honneur, de la droiture, de la liberté etc… des valeurs sur lesquels toute personne, faiblement instruit serait en parfait accord.

Usuellement, sans l’appui de la politique étrangère, la propagande ne pourrait tenir interminablement et donc serait vainement qu’un simple appel a la mise en garde. En exemple, le premier a lâcher le mot guerre, fut le ministre des AE françaises contre l’Iran. Il esperait ainsi avoir l’aval des français, mais c’était sans compter qu’ils n’etaient pas aussi belliciste que les israéliens ou les américains.

Dernière chose, pour vaincre toute vérité, la propagande a des gardes du corps du mensonge pour éviter toute contradiction. En exemple, lorsque l’on veut, dans une émission alimenter un mensonge sur les musulmans, ils évitent d’inviter un spécialiste de l’islam, mais plutôt un islamologue. La différence entre ces deux cas est notable. Dénigrer l’absent est beaucoup plus facile que de se confronter a lui.

Fausse filiere 'djihadistes' de la DST en Tchétchenie : La France accusée de Terrorisme par la Russie

Tchétchénie: le renseignement occidental soutenait les séparatistes (TV)



Les services secrets occidentaux ont mis au point dans les années 1990 un plan visant à rendre effective l'indépendance de la Tchétchénie vis-à-vis de la Russie, affirme un documentaire intitulé "Plan Caucase" qui sera diffusé mardi soir sur la chaîne publique russe Pervi Kanal.

Selon un communiqué publié par la chaîne, la France imprimait des passeports d'Itchkérie (le nom donné à la république par les séparatistes), et des armements étaient acheminés vers la république à travers la Géorgie dans le cadre de cette opération.

Le citoyen turc d'origine tchétchène Aboubakar, connu depuis 40 ans sous le pseudonyme de Berkan Iachar, à la suite d'un contrat signé avec la CIA, raconte l'organisation dans les années 1990 d'une plateforme politique visant à obtenir la sécession de la république russe.

Selon lui, ce projet était financé par plusieurs Etats. Les passeports destinés à la République d'Itchkérie étaient imprimés par la France, la monnaie était fondue en Allemagne.

"Dans les années 1990, Aboubakar devient en quelque sorte l'éminence grise à travers laquelle on réalise les transactions financières plus ou moins juteuses destinées aux combattants du Caucase du Nord", affirment les réalisateurs du documentaire.

Selon eux, une des affaires les plus secrètes remonte au temps du leader séparatiste Djokhar Doudaïev dans les années 1990. M. Iachar participe alors à la mise au point d'un plan visant à acheminer illégalement des pierres précieuses à l'aéroport de Grozny.

"Le bénéfice dégagé servait à acheter des armes. Il ne s'agissait pas de sommes très importantes, entre 10 et 20 millions de dollars à chaque convoi", a confié Aboubakar, selon lequel cette filière n'a été découverte que plusieurs années plus tard.

"Ce ne sont que quelques exemples du soutien fourni par les services secrets étrangers à la sécession de la Tchétchénie", affirme le documentaire.

Les tribulations sionistes en Afrique

Le 25 février 2008, le Mouvement de Libération du Soudan a annoncé l’ouverture de ses bureaux à Tel Aviv. Le mouvement rebelle du Darfour dirigé par Abdel Wahid Al Nour a déclaré à cette occasion qu’étant donné que le gouvernement israélien avait protégé des jeunes Soudanais du Darfour d’un génocide certain, il était temps qu’une représentation pour les réfugiés soudanais soit présente en Israël.

En espérant acquérir de la respectabilité et de la notoriété à l’échelle internationale, Abdel Wahid Al Nur révèle ses accointances. La faction séparatiste est depuis toujours soutenue par le Lobby étasunien et l’installation d’une officine à demeure dans l’entité sioniste est le pas qui met le SLM (Mouvement de Libération du Soudan) en rapport direct avec ses financiers.

Al Nur se place sous autorité israélienne pour revendiquer une vision libérale et sécularisée de l’État du Soudan.

Pendant les années de guerre civile quand le Sud menait sa guérilla pour la sécession, le Darfour fournissait abondamment des soldats pour l’infanterie du gouvernement central religieux de Khartoum, loin de toute idée de laïcité revendiquée alors par les séparatistes de l’époque.

Dans ces années, Israël soutenait les séparatistes du Sud, logistiquement et financièrement, et c’est en raison d’accords secrets entre le Président de l’époque Jâafr Al Numeiri et l’équipe dirigeante de l’entité sioniste que les architectes de la rébellion du Sud furent contraints de s’asseoir à la table de négociation.

La Coalition Save Darfour basée aux US(a) et composée quasi-exclusivement de groupes confessionnels juifs, le reste étant représenté par quelques évangélistes sionistes, s’est promis de mettre à profit le passage de la flamme olympique pour dénoncer la complicité de la Chine dans le « génocide » du Darfour. Quelques activistes de Save Darfour ont rejoint les défenseurs du Tibet le 9 avril à San Francisco. Parmi eux, Ruth Messinger la présidente de « American Jewish Service » branche de New York. Le rabbin Lee Bycel, président de AJS pour la région ouest faisait partie de la manifestation. Ce chef religieux est allé de nombreuses fois au Tchad dans des camps de réfugiés.

Les implications de la très démocratique et occidentale entité sioniste en Afrique excèdent la coopération tristement célèbre entre Israël et l’État de l’apartheid d’Afrique du Sud, les Israéliens faisaient leur profit en contournant le boycott international opposé au régime banni du Cap.

Des universitaires proches du candidat d’opposition Simba Makoni au Zimbabwe avaient dénoncé en mars avant même la tenue des élections l’arrivée d’équipes israéliennes (et pakistanaises) à Harare pour aider à installer un climat de terreur parmi la population et truquer les élections. Mugabe a payé 2,5 millions de dollars une firme Cogniview en lien avec le Mossad pour assurer la maîtrise de toute rébellion populaire après l’annonce des résultats en coopération avec les forces de sécurité locales. Elle s’est assurée de la maîtrise du déroulement des élections et a trafiqué les listes électorales et fourni des bulletins surnuméraires à placer dans les urnes.

La politique d’intervention africaine d’Israël depuis l’Angola, à la République Démocratique du Congo, au Rwanda, à la Sierra Leone en passant par la République de Centre Afrique et la Côte d’Ivoire, sert les intérêts stratégiques des deux alliés US(a)-Israël et l’économie israélienne n’est pas en reste.

La Gesrtler’s International Diamond Industry qui détient le monopole du diamant congolais a fourni une assistance militaire à la République Démocratique du Congo au travers de personnel conseil comme le Général en retraite Yosi Ben Hanan, Avigdor Lieberman député du parti d’extrême droite Yisrael Beytenu et Yossi Kamisa ancien officier de la police anti-terroriste. Le grand-père des frères Gertler, de ce même groupe Dan Gertler Israel (DGI) Moshe Schnitzer est connu en Israël sous le nom de M. Diamant. Dans sa jeunesse, Schnitzer faisait partie du groupe terroriste Irgoun qui a assassiné entre autres victimes l’envoyé de la Croix Rouge en Palestine, le comte Bernadotte. Il a fondé la bourse d’échange du diamant en Israël qui procure 13 milliards de dollars au PIB israélien par an et représente la deuxième plus importante industrie exportatrice de l’entité sioniste.

D’après un rapport publié par l’American Jewish Committee, les diplomates israéliens ont été remplacés après les années 80 par un petit groupe d’hommes d’affaires, d’agents du Mossad et d’émissaires militaires qui sont devenus les seuls interlocuteurs des leaders africains. Des anciens officiers de l’armée israélienne, comme Yair Klein recherché par le FBI pour avoir entraîné les milices du cartel de Medelin en Colombie, sont devenus des trafiquants d’armes à l’échelle de tout le continent africain, répandant le sang qui tâche les matières premières, coltran, diamant, uranium et pétrole.

Pourquoi retrouve-t-on toujours l’artefact du côté des fauteurs de troubles, de guerre et de crime ?

Palestine: L'occupation tue 29 Palestiniens dont dix enfants en une semaine seulement




Un rapport juridique a dit que les forces de l'occupation israéliennes ont tué, au cours de la semaine dernière, 29 citoyens palestiniens innocents dont dix enfants et un journaliste dans la bande de Gaza, alors que 81 autres dont 41 enfants ainsi qu'un journaliste et trois femmes ont été blessés.

Le centre palestinien des droits de l'homme a souligné dans son rapport hebdomadaire que 13 citoyens palestiniens dont 8 enfants et un journaliste ont été tués, alors que 32 autres ont été blessés dans la région de Jouhr Al-Dick, au milieu de la bande de Gaza, en plus de sept martyrs et de 27 blessés lors d'une incursion sioniste dans le camp d'Al-Boureij, au milieu de la Bande? Il y a aussi eu deux martyrs lors d'opérations d'assassinat, au nord de Gaza.

Le 11 avril 2008, les forces occupantes ont tué neuf citoyens palestiniens dont deux résistants des brigades d'Al-Qassam et deux enfants, alors que 27 autres ont été blessés dont trois dans un état grave par les tirs des forces occupantes qui ont envahi la région, rasé les terres agricoles et détruit plusieurs maisons.

Les 14 et 15 avril, les forces occupantes ont effectué deux opérations d'assassinat, tuant six résistants palestiniens, au nord de la Bande.



Les ambulances vont s'arrêter ce samedi à Gaza après la fin du carburant

La direction générale des urgences dans la bande de Gaza a affirmé que toutes les ambulances vont complètement s'arrêter, ce samedi 19/4 à 6h00 du soir.

Le directeur des urgences au ministère de la santé, Dr. Mouawia Hassanine, a dit dans une déclaration de presse dont le Centre Palestinien d'Information a reçu une copie, que tous les propriétaires des stations ont affirmé qu'ils ne possèdent plus de de carburant. En conséquence, les ambulances vont s'arrêter ce samedi à 18h00.

Il a averti de la difficulté de la situation durant ces jours et il a dit que les agressions et les bombardements sionistes sont continuels et que des dizaines de blessés attendent de pouvoir se soigner à l'extérieur de la Bande.

Le ministère de la santé a également annoncé, il y a deux jours, l'arrêt des opérations chirurgicales et la fermeture des chambres d'opérations dans tous les hôpitaux de la bande de Gaza, à cause du blocus sioniste.

Le ministère a appelé l'organisation internationale de la santé et les autres organisations de la santé et des droits de l'homme, ainsi que toutes les institutions de la communauté internationale, à intervenir immédiatement pour arrêter cette catastrophe humanitaire qui menace la vie des malades.

L'ancien président Américain, Jimmy Carter, a condamné les pratiques de l'entité sioniste et de la direction américaine, en considérant que le blocus de Gaza représente un crime et un acte barbare, en soulignant que les tentatives américaines pour renverser le pouvoir du Hamas ont conduit à des résultats inverses.

Lors de sa conférence au Caire avec la délégation du Hamas, présidée par Mahmoud Zahhar, Carter a souligné, jeudi 17/4, que les palestiniens de Gaza meurent de faim et ne possèdent même pas la nourriture du plus pauvre pays en Afrique.

Lors d'un article publié par l'agence" Reuters", Carter a dit que cela représente acte et un crime sauvage, en qualifiant sa continuation d'acte méprisable et inacceptable.

L'ancien président américain a insisté sur l'importance d'adhérer le Hamas dans tous les arrangements pour contribuer à une vraie paix, en indiquant que certains dirigeants sionistes sont prêts à discuter avec le Hamas, tout en espérant que les entretiens soient réalisés bientôt, selon ses déclarations.

Après son arrivée au Caire, Dr. Zahhar a salué l'initiative de l'ancien président américain, Jimmy Carter, en rencontrant les leaders du Hamas, en déclarant aux journalistes que Carter a pu briser tous les obstacles israéliens qui ont tenté de l'empêcher à rencontrer les dirigeants du Hamas.

« Carter a affirmé "la légitimité du Hamas", en montrant qu'il représente un mouvement patriotique pour la libération de la Palestine", malgré que Carter n'a pas dit cela », a ajouté Zahhar.


Mechaal rencontre Jimmy Carter à Damas pour discuter de la situation au Moyen-Orient

L'ancien président américain, Jimmy Carter est arrivé à Damas, vendredi 18/4 à 22h15, dans le cadre d'une tournée régionale, et s'est entretenu longuement avec le chef du bureau politique du mouvement du Hamas, Khaled Mechaal, une rencontre qui a été critiquée par les Etats-Unis et l'Etat de l'occupation.

L'entrevue qui a débuté l'après-midi dans le bureau du mouvement du Hamas à Damas a duré plus de quatre heures, selon un journaliste de l'AFP, mais rien n'a filtré sur le contenu de ces discussions.

Le responsable du Hamas Mohammed Nazzal a néanmoins précisé qu'une autre rencontre est prévue, cette soirée, entre les conseillers de M. Carter et des membres du bureau politique du Hamas pour examiner les détails, notamment le prix de la libération du soldat israélien capturé (Gilad Shalit), et l'arrêt des tirs de roquettes contre des buts de l'occupation.

Avant le début des entretiens, le dirigeant du Hamas Moussa Abou Marzouk, qui a été joint par téléphone, avait affirmé que le dialogue entre les deux hommes va aborder le sort du soldat capturé, ainsi qu'une éventuelle trêve et la levée du blocus imposé contre la bande de Gaza.

Au Caire, un haut responsable du Hamas, Mahmoud Zahhar, a réaffirmé, vendredi 18/4, les conditions posées par le mouvement du Hamas pour la libération du soldat israélien Gilad Shalit, qui a été capturé lors d'une opération exécutée par des résistants palestiniens contre un poste militaire israélien, sur la frontière avec Gaza, en juin 2006.

Les dirigeants du Hamas ont jugé qu'une offre de libération de Shalit en échange de 600 prisonniers palestiniens était "raisonnable" étant donné que le nombre de Palestiniens enlevés a atteint 11.000 détenus palestiniens dans les prisons de l'occupation.

Avant de discuter avec Khaled Mechaal, Jimmy Carter s'était entretenu avec le président syrien Bachar Al-Assad.

Selon l'agence officielle Sana, il a été jugé important de mobiliser tous les efforts pour alléger les souffrances des Palestiniens et lever le blocus contre Gaza.

Carter a dit : "Il est très important de rencontrer les dirigeants du Hamas pour savoir leurs points de vue".

De son côté, le porte-parole du Hamas Sami Abou Zouhri avait déclaré que la rencontre avec Mechaal allait être une occasion pour préciser les positions du Hamas et permettre de briser la politique d'isolement imposée par les Etats-Unis, l'occupation et d'autres parties.

L'ancien président américain a également insisté sur le dialogue avec la Syrie, en jugeant difficile l'arrivée à une paix dans la région sans elle.

Après la Syrie, Carter doit se rendre en Jordanie et en Arabie Saoudite.


Nazzal : Les rencontres de Carter avec Mechaal représentent un coup pour les USA et l'occupation

Le membre du bureau politique du mouvement du Hamas Mohammed Nazzal a affirmé que les deux rencontres qui ont regroupé l'ancien président américain Jimmy Carter et Khaled Mechaal étaient positives, en déclarant que son mouvement a montré sa position envers toutes les questions.

Instead of running with an actual news story, the whole damned thing stinks of a psyop press release, with the same story repeated numerous times in the world press, as shown in this release. Search the story on the 'Net and see how alike each and every article is.

Again, Ms. Katz is the first one to get ahold of this tape, just like numerous other video and audio recordings alleged to be made by AQ.

Katz and her "handlers" are using their usual modus operandi by releasing this story to the overseas press, so that today, it can be picked up and run as a "legit" story by the American MSM.

Again, the question needs to be asked, as it was asked here on WUFYS last Fall, about Katz:

Maybe Rita is a clairvoyant, to have participated and observed events in the U.S. before she was even in this country.

Katz, whose book, Terrorist Hunter, published by a Harper Collins, which is owned by Zionist Rupert Murdoch, seems more like the Austin Powers character portrayed by Mike Myers in the movie, "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery."

Except there's no mystery here to Ms. Katz. Katz is an obvious MOSSAD agent and is part and parcel of that agency's ongoing project to conflate the racist and Apartheid state of Israel's ethnic cleansing campaign of the indigenous Palestinians with the White House manufactured "War on Terror."

Deuxièmement, la présence du premier personnage de l’Etat français à la Martinique est particulièrement obscène puisqu’elle heurte la sensibilité légendaire d’Aimé Césaire face aux injustices et au racisme. Comment oublier la politique réactionnaire et négrophobe du gouvernement actuel ? Qui peut oublier que des Hommes, Femmes, Enfants sont traqués au quotidien au nom de la politique de "l’immigration choisie" ? enquetesQui peut oublier que la police nationale pousse à la mort des individus en raison de la couleur de leur peau ou de leurs origines ?

Troisièmement, on ne peut pas oublier que Nicolas Sarkozy est l’initiateur du ministère de "l’immigration et de l’identité nationale", comprenez par là un concept visant à "purifier" la France de ses ennemis......les Noirs et Arabes. N’a t-on pas entendu parler de "Racailles", "Karcher" et autres noms d’oiseaux utilisés en direction des "banlieues" ? Qui peut oublier que l’ancien ministre de l’intérieur s’est approprié le programme de l’extrême droite dans sa conquête du pouvoir ? N’est-ce pas en surfant sur les émeutes de Clichy/Bois et sur les morts des incendies dans les hôtels et habitations insalubres que Nicolas Sarkozy a conquis un électorat frileux et raciste, qui fantasmait sur une "invasion étrangère " de la France ?

Quatrièmement, il n’a échappé à personne que le locataire de l’Elysée s’est manifesté par ses prises de position en faveur de personnalités controversées qui n’ont eu cesse d’inciter à la haine "Anti-Noirs". N’est-ce pas Nicolas Sarkozy qui soutenait les propos de Bernard Accoyer, actuel Président de l’Assemblée Nationale, de Gérard Larcher et d’Hélène Carrère d’Encausse, qui affirmaient que les émeutes dans les "banlieues" étaient la conséquence de "l’immigration" africaine et de la polygamie ?

Cinquièmement, la présence d’un Nicolas Sarkozy aux obsèques d’Aimé Césaire est définitivement une provocation insupportable parce que l’on n’a pas oublié qu’il a ouvertement pris la défense du philosophe Alain Finkielkraut, qui s’était illustré par des propos incendiaires :

Et dans cette même logique, l’éducation nationale prévoyait de retirer l’enseignement de l’esclavage du programme en primaire. En clair, comme Nicolas Sarkozy s’oppose à la " concurrence des mémoires", il espère réduire au silence les revendications mémorielles et légitimes autour de la Traite Négrière Transatlantique. Ne disait-il pas pendant la dernière campagne présidentielle qu’il était opposé à la repentance permanente, sous entendu qu’il fallait vanter les aspects positifs de la colonisation dont "la France n’a pas à rougir". The eighteenth century was the heyday of the imperialist lust for world-wide hegemony and control. Wealthy European Ashkenazim, who were facing discrimination in Europe, wanted to use this opportunity in order to establish a state of their own and rid themselves from the discrimination they face in Europe.

Creation of a Jewish State in Palestine could not have happened without the help provided by the imperialist powers. For the imperialist powers, such a state would form a militarized outpost and a base for control of an area that is rich with oil resources.

Napoleon Bonaparte was the first European leader to appreciate the special services a Jewish state would offer in facilitating his imperialist and colonial ambitions and issued an invitation for a Jewish convention for all European Jews in 1807.

Palmerstone of Great Britain was interested in facilitating Jewish immigration to Palestine in 1840. When Britain bought the Egyptian share in the Suez Canal Corp. in 1875, Lord Rothschild (Baron de Rothschild) financed the deal. Two years later, Lord Rothschild financed the first Jewish settlement in Palestine, Betah Tekfa. Herzl made it clear that if the Great powers granted Palestine to the Zionists and guaranteed their existence, they would there [in Palestine] "Form a portion of the rampart of Europe against Asia, an outpost of civilization as opposed to barbarism" (Theodor Herzl, The Jewish State: An Attempt at a Modern Solution to the Jewish Question., p. 30)

General Shlomo Gazit, a former Israeli Military Intelligence commander, stated that "The geographical location of Israel at the center of the Arab-Muslim Middle East predestines Israel to be a devoted guardian of stability in all the countries surrounding it. Its [role] is to protect the existing regimes: to prevent or halt the processes of radicalization, and to block the expansion of fundamentalist religious zealotry. When the Zionists began to talk about creation of a state in Palestine, the number of Jews living in Palestine did not exceed 10,000. Accordingly, creation of a "Jewish State" in Palestine required Ethnic Cleansing and Land Theft. And this is exactly what started in 1948 and is still going on to this date.

Yossef Weitz, director of the Jewish National Fund (JNF) Lands Dept. and a major settlement executive, wrote in his diary in 1940: "it must be clear that there is no room in the country for both peoples If the Arabs leave it, the country will become wide and spacious for us The only solution [after the end of World War II] is a Land of Israel, at least a western Land of Israel [i.e., Palestine], without Arabs. There is no room here for compromises There is no way but to transfer the Arabs from here to the neighboring countries, to transfer all of them, save perhaps for [the Arabs of] Bethlehem, Nazareth and old Jerusalem. Not one village must be left, not one [bedouin] tribe. The transfer must be directed at Iraq, Syria and even Transjordan. For this goal funds will be found And only after this transfer will the country be able to absorb millions of our brothers and the Jewish problem will cease to exist. There is no other solution." According to Weitz, "Transfer does not serve only one aim ­ to reduce the Arab population ­ it also serves a second purpose by no means less important, which is: to evict land now cultivated by Arabs and to free it for Jewish settlement." Therefore, he concluded: "The only solution is to transfer the Arabs from here to neighbouring countries. Not a single village or a single tribe must be let off". This is exactly what started in 1948 and is still going on to this date. And after sixty years of wars and bloodshed what was the result for Zionists? The number of Palestinian Arabs within the boundaries of Mandate Palestine is almost equal to the number of Jews and the land is still owned by the Palestinian Arabs.

On 30 March 1976 Palestinians under occupation since 1948 and holding Israeli citizenship held a general strike and demonstrated peacefully against a wave of land confiscation. Six young Palestinians were shot dead by the Israeli army. The Rabin government, at the time, refused to set up a commission to investigate the killings. It is about time for the Jews living in Palestine to admit the fallacy and bankruptcy of the Zionist project and to accept to live in peace and harmony with the Palestinian Arabs as equal people with equal rights and to allow the Refugees to go back to the lands and homes that were stolen from them.

Lors de son communiqué de presse dont le centre palestinien d'information a reçu une copie, le mercredi soir 16/4, le Hamas a demandé à toutes les factions palestiniennes de la résistance nationale à riposter fortement aux crimes sionistes perpétrés contre les citoyens palestiniens innocents.

Le Hamas s'est adressé aux gouverneurs de la nation arabe et musulmane en leur portant responsables des crimes perpétuels sionistes contre les citoyens palestiniens dont les enfants et les femmes, au moment où ils boycottent les palestiniens en les privant de pétrole, et le renforcement des agressions sionistes qui poursuit d'exterminer le peuple palestinien.

Le Hamas a ajouté que les offres pétrolières arabes et leurs concessions gratuites au profit de l'entité sioniste, continuent au dépend des intérêts, droits légitimes et suprêmes des palestiniens.
Le Hamas s'est opposé fortement au silence honteux et inacceptable des leaders arabes qui continuent de soutenir les stratégies de complots qui servent les sionistes criminels.

Il a condamné également la continuation des entretiens et des négociations du groupe de Ramallah dirigé par Mahmoud Abbas, en le rappelant que le peuple palestinien ne va supporter toujours la politique et les agendas du groupe de Ramallah qui ignore les souffrances et les massacres perpétuels contre ses concitoyens.

En d’autres circonstances le scandale aurait éclaté, mais quand ce sont des rabbins influents qui réclament l’annihilation des Palestiniens, le monde reste sans sourciller, écrit Saleh Al-Naami


« Tous les Palestiniens doivent être tués : hommes, femmes, enfants en bas âge, et même leurs animaux. » C’était l’avis religieux publié il y a une semaine par le Rabbin Yisrael Rosen, directeur de l’institut Tsomet, un institut religieux depuis longtemps fréquenté par des étudiants et des soldats dans les colonies israéliennes de Cisjordanie. Dans un article publié par de nombreux journaux religieux israéliens il y a deux semaines et repris par le journal libéral « Haaretz » le 26 mars, Rosen a affirmé qu’il était évident que la Torah justifiait cette prise de position.

Rosen, une autorité pouvant émettre des avis religieux pour les juifs, a écrit que les Palestiniens étaient comme la nation des Amalekites qui avaient attaqué les tribus israélites sur leur route vers Jérusalem après que ces tribus se soient sauvées d’Egypte sous la conduite de Moïse. Il a également écrit que Dieu avait envoyé par le biais de la Torah une loi qui avait autorisé les juifs à massacrer les Amalekites, et que cette loi faisait partie de la jurisprudence juive.

L’article de Rosen, qui a fait beaucoup de bruit en Israël, reprenait le texte de loi dans la Torah : « Annihilez les Amalekites du premier au dernier. Tuez-les et prenez leurs biens. Ne montrez aucune pitié. Tuer sans interruption, l’un après l’autre. Ne laisser aucun enfant, ni aucune plante, ni aucun arbre. Tuer leurs animaux, des chameaux jusqu’aux ânes. » Rosen ajoute que les Amalekites ne sont pas une race ou une religion particulière, mais plutôt tout ceux qui détestent les juifs pour des motifs religieux ou nationalistes. Rosen va jusqu’à dire qu’il y aura « des Amalekites tant que il y aura des juifs. A chaque époque les Amalekites se distingeront des autres races pour attaquer les juifs, et ainsi la guerre contre eux doit être générale. » Il milite pour l’application de « la loi pour les Amalekites » et dit que les juifs doivent s’engager à mettre cette loi en application dans tous les domaines parce que c’est « un commandement divin ».

Rosen n’hésite pas à définir « les Amalekites à notre époque » comme étant les Palestiniens. Il écrit : « ceux qui tuent des étudiants pendant qu’ils étudient la Torah, et qui envoient des missiles sur la ville Siderot, sèment la terreur dans les coeurs des hommes et des femmes. Ceux qui dansent au-dessus du sang sont les Amalekites, et nous devons répliquer avec haine. Nous devons nous débarrasser de toute trace d’humanité dans la façon de les traiter de sorte que nous sortions victorieux. »

Le véritable scandale est que la plupart de ceux qui sont autorisés à émettre des avis religieux pour les juifs soutiennent la prise de position du Rabbin Rosen, comme l’a confirmé le journal « Haaretz ». À la tête de ceux qui sont du même avis se trouve le Rabbin Mordechai Eliyahu, la principale autorité religieuse dans le courant national religieux israélien aujourd’hui, et ancien rabbin en chef d’origine oriental pour Israël. L’opinion de Rosen obtient également l’appui du Rabbin Dov Lior, président du Conseil des rabbins de Judée et Samaria (Cisjordanie), et du Rabbin Shmuel Eliyahu, rabbin en chef de Safed et candidat pour le poste de rabbin en chef d’Israël. Un certain nombre de dirigeants politiques ont également montré de l’enthousiasme pour cette opinion, avec parmi eux Ori Lubiansky, le maire de Jérusalem.

Il n’y a aucun doute parmi les observateurs en Israël que l’attentat à Jérusalem il y a trois semaines dans lequel huit étudiants juifs ont été tués dans une école religieuse a été déterminant pour que les autorités juives émettent des avis religieux d’une nature raciste et haineuse. Le jour suivant l’attentat de Jérusalem, un certain nombre de rabbins menés par Daniel Satobsky ont émis un avis religieux invitant la jeunesse juive et « tous ceux qui croient en la Torah » de prendre leur revanche sur les Palestiniens avec toute la hâte possible.

Une semaine après l’opération, un groupe des principaux rabbins a émis un avis religieux sans précédent autorisant l’armée israélienne à bombarder des secteurs civils palestiniens. L’avis a été émis par « l’association des rabbins de la terre d’Israël » et déclare que la loi religieuse juive permet le bombardement de zones résidentielles civiles palestiniennes si ces zones sont à l’origine des attaques vers des zones résidentielles juives. L’avis dit également : « quand les résidants des villes entourant des colonies et des centres de population juives tirent des obus en direction des colonies dans le but d’apporter la mort et la destruction, la Torah permet que des obus soient tirés vers les lieux de mise à feu même si les habitants civils sont dans ces zones. »

L’avis ajoute que parfois il est nécessaire de répondre immédiatement avec des tirs d’obus sur les zones de lancement, sans donner d’avertissement préalable à la population palestinienne. Il y a une semaine, le Rabbin Eliyahu Kinvinsky, la deuxième autorité dans le courant religieux orthodoxe, a émis un avis religieux interdisant l’embauche d’Arabes, en particulier dans les écoles religieuses.

Cet avis religieux succédait à un précédent avis qui avait été publié par le Rabbin Lior interdisant l’embauche d’Arabes et la location d’appartements résidentiels à leur bénéfice dans les quartiers juifs. Afin de favoriser un climat qui permette à des organisations juives extrémistes de continuer à attaquer les citoyens palestiniens, Rabbin Israël Ariel, un des rabbins les plus importants dans le complexe des colonies en Cisjordanie, a récemment émis un avis religieux interdisant que les juifs religieux impliqués dans les attaques contre des Palestiniens soient présentés devant des tribunaux civils israéliens. Selon cet avis, ils doivent exiger à la place d’être présentés devant les cours de justice de la Torah qui suivent la loi religieuse.

Le journal « Haaretz » a noté que ce que le Rabbin Ariel essayait de mettre en œuvre par cet avis religieux avait en fait déjà eu lieu. Le premier exemple est qu’une cour de justice dans Kfar Saba avait ordonné la relaxe d’une jeune femme juive appelée Tsevia Teshrael qui avait attaqué un fermier palestinien dans la région centrale de la Cisjordanie. Et il y a des autorités religieuses juives qui glorifient les meurtres et félicitent les terroristes, tels le Rabbin Yitzhaq Ginsburg, un des premiers rabbins en Israël qui a édité un livre dont le titre est « Baruch le héros » en mémoire de Baruch Goldstein qui a commis le massacre de la mosquée Ibrahimi en 1994 où il a ouvert le feu et tué 29 Palestiniens pendant que ceux-ci récitaient la prière de l’aube dans Hébron au sud de la Cisjordanie. Ginsburg estime que son acte était « honorable et glorieux ».

Le danger de ces avis religieux réside dans le fait que les autorités religieuses qui les publient jouissent d’une grande estime dans la jeunesse juive religieuse. Et tandis que seulement 28% de la population israélienne se déclare religieuse, plus de 50% de cette même population se définit comme conservatrice et accorde la première importance aux avis publiés par les autorités religieuses juives. Selon une étude réalisée par le département des sciences sociales de l’université de Bar Elon, plus de 90% de ceux qui se définissent comme religieux croient que si les lois de l’Etat et les décisions du gouvernement sont contradictoires avec les avis religieux publiés par des rabbins, ils doivent ignorer les premiers et agirent selon les seconds.

Ce qui accorde aux avis religieux racistes un impact plus profond et de plus grande envergure est le fait que les disciples du courant religieux sioniste, qui forment presque 10% de la population, avaient cherché la dernière décennie à prendre la direction de l’armée et des organismes de sécurité. Ils procèdent ainsi en s’offrant volontairement pour le service dans les unités spéciales de combat. Les services de communication dans l’armée israélienne indiquent que bien que le pourcentage de disciples de ce courant soit plutôt bas dans les études démographiques réalisées, ils forment plus de 50% des officiers dans l’armée israélienne et plus de 60% des commandants d’unités spéciales.

Selon un sondage d’opinion réalisé par le centre interdisciplinaire Herzliya et publié l’année dernière, plus de 95% des soldats et officiers religieux déclarent exécuter les ordres du gouvernement élu et de leurs chefs dans l’armée seulement si ces ordres sont en accord avec les avis religieux publiés par les principaux rabbins et autorités religieuses.

Wasil Taha, député arabe de la Knesset du parti Tajammu dirigé par Azmi Bishara, indique que ces avis religieux aboutissent à des crimes. Il mentionne que des avis religieux publiés par un certain nombre de rabbins au milieu de 1995 ont conduit à l’assassinat de l’ancien premier ministre israélien Yitzhak Rabin. « Si c’est ce qui se produit lorsque des avis religieux poussent à attaquer des dirigeants juifs tels que Rabin, que va-t-il se passer au moment où ces avis ordonneront des attaques contre les dirigeants palestiniens et le peuple palestinien ? » demande-t-il. « Nous, en tant que responsables arabes, avons commencé à ressentir un manque de sécurité à la suite de cette pléthore d’avis religieux, et nous nous rendons compte que la question exige beaucoup d’attention de la part de nos mouvements car nous sommes certains qu’il y a des personnes qui cherchent à mettre en application ces avis, » déclare-t-il l’hebdomadaire d’Al-Ahram.

Taha répond négativement à ceux qui s’interrogent sur le rôle du gouvernement et du personnel politique israélien dans l’opposition à ces avis religieux extrémistes. « Les ministres dans le gouvernement israélien et les députés de la Knesset se font concurrence pour inciter à la haine à l’encontre des Palestiniens et n’hésitent pas à menacer d’expulsion en dehors des frontières les Palestiniens qui vivent sur leur terre d’Israël et portent la citoyenneté israélienne, comme l’a fait le député Avigdor Lieberman et représentant d’Evi Etam, » indique Taha.

Il note que les citoyens palestiniens en Israël ont commencé à prendre des mesures d’une précaution extrême depuis que sont publiés ces avis religieux, dont des mesures de sécurité autour des mosquées et des bâtiments publics, ainsi que des campagnes d’information auprès des responsables de manifestations publiques de sorte que des membres d’organismes juifs terroristes puissent être empêchés d’attaquer les participants. Taha soutient que les secteurs de la population palestinienne très probablement menacés par ces avis religieux sont ceux qui vivent dans les diverses villes peuplés à la fois par des juifs et des Palestiniens, tels que Haïfa, Jaffa, Lod, Ramleh et Jérusalem.

L’auteur et chercheur palestinien Abdul-Hakim Mufid, de la ville d’Um Fahem, soutien que les avis religieux des rabbins ont surtout gagné en importance à cause de l’harmonie qui règne entre la rhétorique officielle et celle des rabbins. Mufid note que les établissements israéliens officiels n’ont pas essayé de s’opposer à la rhétorique « fasciste » exprimée par ces avis religieux alors qu’ils pourraient le faire. « La plupart des rabbins qui émettent des avis religieux de nature tyrannique sont des employés officiels dans des organismes d’état et y perçoivent des salaires. Et l’état israélien n’a pas jugé que ces rabbins devaient rendre des comptes ni cherché à interdire la publication de tels avis, » dit-il à « Al Ahram Weekly ».

Mufid précise que l’institution politique officielle est en crise, le consensus sioniste qui soutient ces avis religieux devenant de plus en plus fort, et il offre comme exemple les avis religieux relayés par le Rabbin Meir Kahane au début des années 80 pour justifier son appel à expulser avec force les Palestiniens. Mufid ajoute qu’Israël encourage dans la pratique tous ceux qui assassinent des Palestiniens, et rappelle la manière dont le gouvernement israélien a traité les recommandations de la Commission Orr qui a enquêté sur le massacre par la police israélienne de 13 Palestiniens disposant de la citoyenneté israélienne en octobre 2000. Le gouvernement a bouclé le dossier bien que la commission ait confirmé que la police avait agi avec agressivité envers les citoyens palestiniens. Mufid suggère que ce qui permet à la campagne raciste des rabbins de gagner en influence est le silence des voix de gauche et des voix libérales, et l’absence de toute mobilisation directe contre cette réthorique.

Neuf martyrs dont trois enfants lors d'un nouveau crime sioniste sauvage

Des sources palestiniennes médicales et des brigades d'Al Qassam ont affirmé que le bilan sioniste criminel et sanglant perpétré, le vendredi 11/4, a fait neuf martyrs dont trois enfants.

Les brigades d'Al Qassam ont souligné que l'un de leurs résistants, Moundhir Abou Houichel, 21ans est tombé en martyr après avoir fait face avec obstination à l'incursion sauvage des forces occupantes qui ont exécuté des opérations aériennes et terrestres contre le camp d'Al Boureidj, au centre de la bande de Gaza.

Ce nouveau bilan lève le nombre des Palestiniens martyrs, notamment après l'opération de grande qualité exécutée par la résistance palestinienne contre un poste militaire sioniste.

L'armée de l'occupation israélienne a tué deux résistants du Hamas lors d'une frappe aérienne, vendredi matin, au sud de Gaza.

Les médecins ont précisé que les autorités occupantes perpètrent des crimes, sans précédent, contres des jeunes et des enfants palestiniens innocents lors des incursions sauvages, tout en montrant qu'un enfant de 12 ans a été blessé au ventre et a succombé à ses blessures, au moment où six autres palestiniens ont été blessés également.

L'armée de l'occupation a ouvert le feu sur un groupe de résistants d'Al Qassam près d'une ferme à Gaza, en tuant quatre personnes et blessant plusieurs autres dont des enfants.

Un neuvième palestinien a été tué également dans la journée.

US forces arrest 22 “Awakening” tribal policemen in al-Qa’im Wednesday.



In a dispatch posted at 4:15pm Baghdad time Wednesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that US occupation forces in al-Qa’im had arrested 22 members of the “Awakening” tribal police – which was originally recruited by the US to help prop up the occupation regime.

“Awakening” police kill four men released by Americans from prison camps in al-Haqlaniyah.



In a dispatch posted at 5:15pm Baghdad time Wednesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that US-recruited “Awakening” tribal policemen in al-Haqlaniyah, a suburb of al-Hadithah, 270km northwest of Baghdad, had killed four men recently released from prison camps by US forces, just hours after they arrived home.



Yaqen reported eyewitnesses in al-Haqlaniyah as saying that the “Awakening” tribal police raided the homes of the four released men in the ash-Shurtah neighborhood of al-Haqlaniyah at dawn on Wednesday. The “Awakening” tribesmen executed all four men in front of their family members.



Two of the victims were brothers and two were cousins. A fifth prisoner who was supposed to be released asked the Americans to let him stay in the prison camp because he had heard of the murders being carried out by the Americans’ tribal allies in his home area. After the murder and mutilation of a prisoner in al-Hadithah on Wednesday (see story below) the total number of released prisoners murdered by the “Awakening” police in the last eight weeks now stood at 13.

In a dispatch posted at 1:45pm Baghdad time Wednesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that members of the US-recruited tribal “Awakening” police in the city of al-Hadithah, 270km northwest of Baghdad kidnapped a man who had recently been released by the US occupation forces in the military district of the city. The “Awakening” tribal police killed the former prisoner, mutilated his body and dumped it in the road.



Yaqen reported eyewitnesses who live in al-Hadithah as saying the victim was named ‘Umar ‘Abd al-Jarad al-Ju‘ani and that he was abducted by the “Awakening” when he showed up at their police station, as was legally required, to register his presence. The terms of his “parole” also prohibited al-Ju‘ani from pursuing any work or from leaving al-Hadithah. He was told that if he should violate either ban, all the members of his family and the guarantor of his bond would all be arrested on charges of “terrorism.”



The witnesses said that the Americans had released al-Ju‘ani from their prison just 10 days before his murder. He had been a prisoner for one year.



Al-Ju‘ani’s murder was the ninth killing in al-Hadithah by the tribal “Awakening” police of a prisoner released by the Americans during the last eight weeks. Released prisoners are required to register on a regular basis with the “Awakening” police and therefore are required to expose themselves to the risk of being abducted and murdered. Accordingly, relatives of prisoners being held by the Americans have lately been appealing to the US occupation authorities not to release their loved ones.



Residents of al-Hadithah report that one of the officials in charge of the tribal “Awakening” contingents in al-Anbar Province – ‘Ali al-Hatim ‘Ali as-Sulayman – appeared on satellite television and publicly announced in no uncertain terms that the “Awakening” police would kill anyone released from captivity by the US forces and that they would furthermore confiscate their money.

Murder spree continues: two more bodies found dumped in Baghdad streets Wednesday.



In a dispatch posted at 9:15pm Baghdad time Wednesday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that two more unidentified bodies were found dumped on the streets of Baghdad on Wednesday.



Gunmen kill three Iraqi Christian women in drive-by shooting in Baghdad Wednesday.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 7:54pm Wednesday evening Beijing time (2:54pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that armed men in an unmarked car opened fire on a car carrying three women in the ‘Arasat al-Hindiyah area of Baghdad’s south-central al-Jadiriyah district.



Xinhua reported a source in the government police as saying that the three women were killed on the spot and that the attackers fled the scene. The source said that the three women victims were Iraqi Christians. The police took their bodies to the Forensic Medicine morgue to be handed over to next of kin.

Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi government police as saying that the authorities still have Madinat as-Sadr, a stronghold of the anti-occupation movement led by young Shi‘i cleric Muqtada as-Sadr, under lockdown with a curfew in force and no one allowed in or out. Accordingly no information was available on the nature or extent of casualties as a result of the on-going American attacks.



Mortar round wounds two in southern Baghdad as regime sources refuse comment on reports of US bombing in Madinat as-Sadr, in violation of cease fire.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 9:12am Wednesday morning Beijing time (4:12am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that mortar shells of unknown origin blasted into two houses in the az-Za‘faraniyah area of southern Baghdad, wounding two people and damaging the two houses.



Xinhua reported the source for that information as refusing to say anything regarding the situation in the Madinat as-Sadr section of eastern Baghdad. Madinat as-Sadr is a stronghold of support for anti-occupation Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr and has remained under government lockdown even though the curfew was lifted in most of the rest of the Iraqi capital. It was widely reported that US warplanes had blasted various places in Madinat as-Sadr, despite the cease-fire that ended the government offensive against the Sadr Movement as of Sunday, 30 March.



Mortar round wounds two in west Baghdad.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 7:38pm Wednesday evening Beijing time (2:38pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a mortar round of unknown origins landed near the railroad in the ad-Dawudi neighborhood of western Baghdad, wounding one Iraqi regime soldier and one civilian.



Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi government police as saying that both men were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.



Three civilians injured in bomb blast in northern Baghdad.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 7:38pm Wednesday evening Beijing time (2:38pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a patrol of the Iraqi government police in the al-Qahirah neighborhood of northern Baghdad.



Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi government police as saying that the blast wounded three civilians who happened to be in the area. One of the patrol vehicles was also damaged.



Three civilians killed in bomb attack in eastern Baghdad Wednesday.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 7:38pm Wednesday evening Beijing time (2:38pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a group of civilians on Square 83 in the at-Talibiyah area of eastern Baghdad on Wednesday.



In an update posted at 7:54pm Beijing time (2:54 in Baghdad), Xinhua reported that the blast had killed three people and wounded 14 more. One of the injured was a correspondent for the privately-owned and independent ad-Diyar satellite TV company, owned by the Iraqi media figure Faysal al-Yasiri, a former media official in the government of President Saddam Hussein.



Murder spree continues: two more torture, murder victims found dumped in Baghdad Tuesday.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 9:12am Wednesday morning Beijing time (4:12am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that Iraqi government police recovered two unidentified bodies in two neighborhoods of Baghdad on Tuesday.



Xinhua reported a source in the government police as saying that police patrols discovered two unidentified bodies, one in ar-Rusafah in eastern Baghdad, and the other in southwestern Baghdad’s al-Karakh area. Both had been tortured and shot.

US troops kill 11 gunmen believed to belong to al-Qa‘idah west of Tikrit early Wednesday.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 8:24am Thursday morning Beijing time (3:24am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that US forces had killed 11 armed men, some of them non-Iraqi Arabs in a raid west of Tikrit.



Xinhua reported a colonel in the Salah ad-Din Province police who asked not to be identified as saying that a US force carried out a landing in the ‘Ayn al-Furs area, 50km west of Tikrit (which is 180km north of Baghdad) at dawn on Monday, after receiving a tip that there were Arab fighters from outside Iraq operating there.



The colonel said that the Americans fought a limited engagement in the area with men believed to belong to the al-Qa‘idah organization. Eleven of the gunmen were killed, seven of them Arabs from outside Iraq. The bodies of the dead were taken to the American Camp Speicher Forward Base, 15km north of Tikrit. The source said that one US soldier was also wounded in the clash.



The source said that a police detachment went to the scene of the attack later on Wednesday and found blood stains, two destroyed houses, mortar shells, bombs, explosive belts, medium and light weapons, ammunition and military gear in addition to four burned cars and two cars that were still able to run. The police detachment returned to its base in Tikrit at 9pm Wednesday.



Ad-Dulu‘iyah.



Gunmen ambush peasants aboard bus near ad-Dulu‘iyah early Wednesday, kill four, kidnap four.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 6:05pm Wednesday afternoon Beijing time (1:05pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that gunmen belonging to al-Qa‘idah attacked a minibus in which a group of peasants were riding east of the city of ad-Dulu‘iyah, 97km north of Baghdad, on Wednesday morning.



Xinhua reported Major ‘Ala’ al-Jabburi of the government police in the provincial capital of Tikrit as saying that gunmen belonging to al-Qa‘idah ambushed the bus coming from the village of Kubaybah, 10km east of ad-Dulu‘iyah, with eight peasants aboard. The gunmen attacked it from a farm field by the side of the main road in the area. After the bus stopped, the gunmen made the peasants get out of the vehicle at gunpoint and then and shot four of them, killing them on the spot and leaving their bodies by the road.



Al-Jabburi said that the gunmen then took the remaining four people who had been aboard the bus and the vehicle itself and drove off to the north in the direction of the border between the provinces of Salah ad-Din and at-Ta’mim.



Al-Jabburi said that following the murder/kidnapping, government police and local villagers launched raids that netted 20 “suspects.” Security forces imposed a security cordon around the area and began a search for the attackers as ambulances took the bodies of the victims to the Forensic Medicine morgue.



Two days earlier gunmen from al-Qa‘idah killed two government policemen in the nearby village of al-Mashru‘, also east of ad-Dulu‘iyah.



In a dispatch posted at 12:25pm Baghdad time midday Wednesday, the Yaqen News Agency reported a source in the ad-Dulu‘iyah police as saying that among those kidnapped from the bus were the Shaykh of the al-Jannabiyin tribe and his son.

Bomb kills three regime security men near Iranian border.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 7:03pm Wednesday evening Beijing time (2:03am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a joint patrol of Iraqi regime troops and police in the Mandali area, a predominantly Kurdish and Shi‘i area near the Iranian border, 100km northeast of Baghdad.



Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi Ministry of the Interior as saying that the blast killed three of the members of the patrol and wounded eight more of them, in addition to destroying two patrol vehicles.



Al-Miqdadiyah.



Bomb kills two Iraqi government policemen near al-Miqdadiyah.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 7:03pm Wednesday evening Beijing time (2:03am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a patrol of government police in the al-Wajihiyah area, near al-Miqdadiyah – which is 85km northeast of Baghdad.



Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi Ministry of the Interior as saying that the blast destroyed a patrol vehicle and killed two of the men in the patrol and wounded three more of them.

Bombs targeted on houses leave woman dead, man wounded.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 7:03pm Wednesday evening Beijing time (2:03am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that three bombs exploded, one after the other, by three houses in the area of as-Sa‘diyah, 20km west of Ba‘qubah (which is 65km northeast of Baghdad).



Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi Ministry of the Interior as saying that the explosions damaged three houses and left one woman dead and one man wounded.

Armed men attack checkpoint east of al-Mawsil Tuesday afternoon.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 11:05am Wednesday morning Beijing time (6:05am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that armed men attacked a checkpoint manned by Iraqi government police in the an-Nabi Yunus area east of al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad, on Tuesday afternoon.



Xinhua reported Brigadier General Khalid ‘Abd as-Sattar, spokesman for the Operations Command in Ninwa Province as saying that two of the armed attackers were killed and two of the policemen at the checkpoint were wounded in the gun battle. General ‘Abd as-Sattar said that the rest of the gunmen fled when they were met by intense gunfire from the police at the checkpoint.



Kidnapped brother of government official freed in al-Mawsil Tuesday.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 11:05am Wednesday morning Beijing time (6:05am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that Iraqi regime security forces freed the brother of Zuhayr al-Chelebi, the former Human Rights Minister in the American-backed Iraqi regime and current adviser to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.



Xinhua reported Operations Commander for Ninwa Province, Brigadier General Khalid ‘Abd as-Sattar, as saying that the security police learned that Tariq al-Chelebi was being held in a house in the Badush area to the west of al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad. Al-Chelebi had been abducted by unknown armed men in the west al-Mawsil neighborhood of “17 Tammuz” two days earlier.



General ‘Abd as-Sattar said that the security forces raided the house where al-Chelebi was being held and set him free. The gunmen who had been holding him fled to an unknown destination before the security forces arrived on the scene.



Zuhayr al-Chelebi, whose brother was freed Tuesday, is the Director General of the Iraqi Council of Ministers and an adviser to Prime Minister al-Maliki. He is also charged with supervising the distribution of aid money paid out to families of victims of the violence that occurred recently in al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 11:25am Baghdad time Wednesday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a man wearing an explosive belt blew himself up by a commander of the US-recruited “Awakening” police in al-Huwayjah, 200km north of Baghdad on Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 3:01pm Baghdad time Wednesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a car bomb parked by the side of a road exploded when a patrol of Iraqi government police passed by in the al-Quds neighborhood of eastern al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad on Wednesday.

Top Iraqi regime military officials survive assassination attempt in al-Basrah Wednesday.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 8:14pm Wednesday night Beijing time (3:14pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by the motorcade of Staff Lieutenant General Mawhan al-Furayji, the Commander of Operations in al-Basrah; and Major General Muhammad al-‘Askari, the official spokesman for the Iraqi Defense Ministry. Both officials were carrying out inspections in the al-Qiblah area west of al-Basrah in southern Iraq when the attack occurred.



Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi government police as saying that neither of the generals was wounded in the attack.



Eyewitnesses said that Iraqi regime army forces had cordoned off the al-Qiblah area at 6am local time Wednesday morning and then stormed in, searching for “wanted men” whom they intended to arrest. The raid sparked a clash with local Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen who resisted the assault on the area.



Xinhua noted that Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki had left al-Basrah on Tuesday and returned to Baghdad. Al-Maliki had flown in to the British base at al-Basrah Airport on Monday last week to oversee his forces’ offensive against the Jaysh al-Mahdi, which ended in government forces losing territory to the militia and finally accepting a face-saving cease-fire accord brokered by Iran that went into effect on Monday, 31 March.



Reporter for US-based Arabic TV station wounded as clashes erupt near al-Basrah Wednesday.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 7:55pm Wednesday evening Beijing time (2:55pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a sniper shot and wounded a correspondent for the US-based Arabic-language satellite TV station “al-Hurrah” in the province of al-Basrah on Wednesday.



Xinhua reported a source in the media in al-Basrah as saying that the reporter received a bullet wound but was not in serious condition. The source, who asked to remain anonymous, said that Mazin at-Tayyar, the wounded journalist, had been shot in the Kilometer 8 area west of the city of al-Basrah as he accompanied the commander of operations of local government forces on an inspection visit to Iraqi army units stationed in the area where clashes broke out with the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi on Wednesday morning and were continuing as of the time of reporting.



The area was the scene of fierce fighting last week, prior to a cease-fire agreement brokered by Iran that went into force on Monday, 31 March. Since then, however, tension has remained high in the area.

Xinhua reported in a dispatch posted at 6:13pm Beijing time (2:13pm in Baghdad) that the casualty count from the car bombing on al-Kindi Street in al-Harithiyah stood at three people dead, one of them a woman, and 10 more injured. Three of the wounded are policemen and on of them was a child.

US troops in civilian dress spark “friendlyfire” battle with Iraqi regime police in al-Hillah, leaving six dead, 15 wounded, many of them civilians.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 3:39pm Thursday afternoon Beijing time (11:39am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that US troops attacked Iraqi regime security men by mistake in the city of al-Hillah, 100km south of Baghdad.



Xinhua reported a source in the al-Hillah government police as saying that a US patrol showed up in the al-Jam‘iyah neighborhood of central al-Hillah where the government administration building is located at 3am local time Thursday morning. One of the building guards noticed them and pointed his weapon at them because he took them for gunmen trying to carry out an attack. One of the Americans then opened fire, killing the guard on the spot.



The source said that policemen inside the headquarters nearby rushed out after hearing the gunfire and pointed their guns at the American troops who then opened fire on the police, sparking a firefight. Four of the policemen were killed and nine others wounded in that clash.



In a dispatch posted at 12:52pm Makkah time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces called in helicopter gun ships to provide them air support against the Iraqi policemen with whom they were clashing in al-Hillah on Thursday.



Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources in the Iraqi regime police as saying that the American troops appeared in the al-Jam‘iyah area of al-Hillah dressed in civilian clothing, presumably on some sort of under cover operation.



A spokesman for al-Hillah’s main hospital declared that his facility had received the bodies of six people killed in the clash, four of them policemen. He said that about 15 people had been wounded, half of those civilians.



Mafkarat al-Islam quoted the US military as saying that its forces entered al-Hillah with the intent of capturing a member of the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militia.



Xinhua reported its source as saying that US forces bombarded the police station in the course of the clash, sending shrapnel flying around the area and wounding two women in their nearby homes. A number of private cars were also destroyed in the US strike on the police headquarters.



The source said that he believed the battle had been unintentional, the mistaken belief by both sides that the other was hostile.

Truck bomber kills seven civilians in attack on checkpoint west of al-Mawsil Wednesday evening.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 3:13pm Thursday afternoon Beijing time (11:13am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that seven Iraqi civilians were killed and 12 more wounded when a man drove a truck packed with explosives into a checkpoint manned by Iraqi government army troops to the west of al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad on Wednesday evening.

Three people killed, one of them a woman, when US helicopter blasts family home of member of Sadr Movement in al-Basrah.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 6:02pm Thursday afternoon Beijing time (2:02pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that helicopter gun ships belonging to the American occupation forces attacked a house in western Baghdad, killing three people and wounding six others.



Xinhua reported a source in the security forces of al-Basrah Province as saying that the air raid during Wednesday-Thursday night targeted a house in the al-Qiblah area of western al-Basrah. Three residents in the house, one of them a woman, were killed and six others wounded. All the victims were members of one family the source said.



A Source in the office of the as-Sadr Movement in the city said that the home belonged to a member of the organization.



The US command issued a statement saying that its aircraft had attacked a house being used by “gunmen,” killing one member of “a militia” but denying reports by its allies in the Iraqi government police that any civilians had perished.



For his part, Major General ‘Abd al-Karim Khalaf, the Director of the National Defense Center in the Ministry of the Interior and the official spokesman for the recent offensive in al-Basrah, denied having any knowledge of the attack. The British command in al-Basrah announced that they had word of the attack and would investigate it.

The increasing American presence was reportedly in preparation for a major US drive to carry out searches for weapons and “wanted persons” in the district following the failure of the Iraqi regime’s drive against the Jaysh al-Mahdi last week.



Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi government Interior Ministry as saying that US tanks and other vehicles began to deploy in the neighborhoods of Madinat as-Sadr on Thursday afternoon. The source said that the Americans’ campaigns of searches and arrests had not yet begun and that US forces were still flowing into the area.

In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 9:59am Friday morning Beijing time (5:59am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb had exploded by a US patrol near a fuel station in the al-Bayya‘ section of western Baghdad – an area where there are many followers of anti-occupation Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr.

Belt bomber attack kills 20 at funeral in as-Sa‘diyah, Diyala Province, Friday morning.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 3:49pm Friday afternoon Beijing time (11:49am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that an attacker wearing an explosive belt blew himself up at the funeral of an Iraqi government policeman in as-Sa‘diyah, 95km northeast of Baghdad, on Friday morning.



Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi Interior Ministry as saying that a man wearing an explosive belt mingled into a group of mourners in the Hamrin Cemetery who were paying their last respects to a member of the Iraqi government police who had been killed on Thursday. The man then blew himself up in the middle of the crowd.



In a dispatch posted at 4:56pm in Beijing (12:56pm in Baghdad), Xinhua reported Lieutenant Colonel ‘Ali Salim of the Diyala Province police as saying that as of that hour, the toll in the attack was 20 dead, most of them relatives and friends of the deceased, and 30 people wounded.

In a dispatch posted at 10:05pm Baghdad time Friday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US helicopter gun ships opened fire on people in al-Basrah on Friday.



The AMSI reported a military spokesman for the British occupation forces in al-Basrah as saying that a US helicopter opened fire on what he dubbed “extremists” in the city in response to a request issued by the US-installed Iraqi regime.



The attack took place in the al-Hayyaniyah district of al-Basrah, an area that was the scene of fighting between the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militia and US-backed government forces last week.


Eyewitnesses said that there had been casualties in the attack that damaged a number of houses.

In a dispatch posted at 6:03pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that armed men shot and killed a Brigadier General in eastern Baghdad on Saturday.



The AMSI reported a source in the Iraqi Interior Ministry who refused to be identified as saying that armed men unleashed a hail of gunfire on Brigadier General Sa‘di Razuqi as he drove is private car down Muhammad al-Qasim Highway in the eastern Baghdad district of az-Zuyunnah. After killing the general, the attackers left the scene.



Christian priest gunned down in central Baghdad.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 6:22pm Saturday afternoon Beijing time (2:22pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that armed men shot and killed a Christian priest of the Syrian Orthodox sect in the middle of Baghdad at midday Saturday.



Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi police as saying that gunmen sprayed Father Yusuf ‘Adil, pastor of the Mar Butrus (St. Peter) Church in front of his home in Baghdad’s al-Karradah district, killing him on the spot. The gunmen then fled the scene. Security agencies were searching for the killers.



Mortar shells wound civilians in southern Baghdad.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 6:22pm Saturday afternoon Beijing time (2:22pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that two mortar shells landed in a residential area of the ar-Rustamiyah area of southern Baghdad.



Xinhua reported source in the Iraqi police as saying that two civilians were wounded in the attack, the origins of which were unknown. Several homes were also damaged in the explosions.



Bomb aboard passenger bus kills three civilians in eastern Baghdad.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 4:37pm Saturday afternoon Beijing time (12:37pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb that had been left in a plastic bag aboard a passenger bus exploded on eastern Baghdad’s Beirut Square.



Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi police as saying that the blast totally destroyed the bus and killed three civilians and wounded 16 others, three of those severely. Damage was inflicted on nearby shops and cars.



The source said that Iraqi police units and ambulances raced to the scene of the attack to evacuate the victims to a nearby hospital.

US forces hold town under lockdown for more than one week, searching, burning, blowing up local residents’ homes.



In a dispatch posted at 10:03pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US forces together with their Iraqi regime allies have been blockading and raiding the small refinery town of as-Siniyah, 15km west of Bayji (which is 200km north of Baghdad) for about a week.



The AMSI reported eyewitnesses as saying that the US troops and their Iraqi regime allies have blockaded as-Siniyah for more than a week and continue to raid and search houses. They have even burned down a number of local dwellings on the pretext that anti-occupation fighters have been resident there.



The Americans search houses that they claim belong to people “wanted” by the US-installed regime. They then set fire to the homes and then blow up the burned building. The witnesses report that no information on the nature or extent of casualties is known because the town has been under lockdown and no information is allowed out.



Residents in contact with the AMSI appealed to the outside world to intervene to break the blockade on their town, and once again allow supplies in to the beleaguered people.

Katyusha rockets pound US base near ad-Diwaniyah midday Saturday.



In a dispatch posted at pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US Camp Echo located near ad-Diwaniyah, 180km south of Baghdad came under Katyusha rocket attack on Saturday.



The AMSI reported a source in the Iraqi military who asked to remain anonymous as saying that three Katyusha rockets landed in the area of the American Camp Echo, 2km west of ad-Diwaniyah at midday Saturday. The source said that no casualties were known to have resulted from the bombardment.



The source said that the rockets were fired in the as-Sanniyah area, 15km north of ad-Diwaniyah, an area from which barrages of medium-range rockets are frequently fired at the American base.



Camp Echo houses US and Polish occupation troops and is nominally under Polish Command. Poland, a NATO satellite state of the United States, maintains a contingent of 900 troops serving the US occupiers in Iraq.



Eyewitnesses in the area of the camp said that aircraft were seen prowling the skies above the area after the attack.

In a dispatch posted at 12:20pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon (1:20pm in Baghdad), Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US military had admitted that three of its troops had been killed and 31 wounded in two attacks with rockets and mortars in Baghdad on Sunday.



Mafkarat al-Islam reported a US official as saying that that one of the attacks targeted the top-security “Green Zone” and left two American troops dead and 17 more wounded.



The source said that the second attack targeted a US base elsewhere in the Iraqi capital. One American soldier died and 14 more were wounded in that attack.



Sunday witnessed an American offensive against the Madinat as-Sadr district of Baghdad, a stronghold of the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia, the armed movement loyal to anti-occupation Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr, whose fighters bombarded the “Green Zone” and other facilities extensively in late March during the US-backed offensive against them.

In a dispatch posted at 8:05pm Baghdad time Sunday evening, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a large fire broke out in the biggest market for food and vegetables in Iraq, a facility located in the low-income Madinat as-Sadr district of Baghdad that US forces had been attacking on Sunday.



Yaqen reported eyewitnesses as saying that the eruption of the fire followed the sound of explosions and gunfire. Clouds of smoke were seen rising from the area of the wholesale market known as ‘Ulwah Jamilah. The fire began to spread from one storage area to another in the market.



The market is located near “Square 55” in Madinat as-Sadr, where US troops launched an offensive against the Jaysh al-Mahdi beginning late Saturday.



US troops invade Madinat as-Sadr district sparking battle with Jaysh al-Mahdi Sunday.



In a dispatch posted at 12:56pm Baghdad time midday Sunday, the Yaqen News Agency reported that fighting erupted between anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen and US and Iraqi regime forces in the Madinat as-Sadr area of Baghdad on Sunday.



Yaqen reported an eyewitness as saying that during Saturday-Sunday night, the US sent troops, military, vehicles and equipment, along with Iraqi regime troops into a number of neighborhoods of the low-income Madinat as-Sadr area of Baghdad, a stronghold of support for the Muqtada as-Sadr Movement. The penetration took place near the fuel station and “Square 55” in the district and ignited battles between the attacking Americans and the Jaysh al-Mahdi defenders. The witness reported that there had been casualties.



Several main streets in Madinat as-Sadr have been closed to traffic because of the fighting, preventing residents from getting out and going to work.



US snipers have also perched themselves atop buildings where they can shoot at anyone walking in the streets.



The American Associated Press (AP) reported officials at two local hospitals as saying that 20 people had been killed and 52 wounded in the US-led assault on Madinat as-Sadr. The hospital sources, who asked not to be identified did not specify whether the casualties were civilians or fighters and US and Iraqi regime sources produced no information about casualties at all.



An Iraqi regime police officer, who asked not to be identified, was quoted by the AP as saying that one American “Stryker” armored vehicle was damaged in the fighting, but the US claimed to “have no knowledge” of any damage to any US vehicle.



The Iraqi policeman also said that two armored Humvees and two trucks belonging to the US-backed Iraqi regime army had been destroyed in the fighting.



In a dispatch posted at 2:31pm Baghdad time Sunday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a US helicopter gun ship killed nine people in the impoverished Baghdad district known as Madinat as-Sadr on Sunday.



Yaqen reported a source in the US military as asserting that an American helicopter blasted areas of Madinat as-Sadr, killing nine people described as “criminals” – one of the terms used by the US military for the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militia.

Bomb wounds US troops near ash-Sharuqat Sunday evening.



In a dispatch posted at 7:30pm Baghdad time Sunday evening, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a US Humvee in the area south of ash-Sharuqat, 250km north of Baghdad on Sunday evening.



Yaqen reported a source in the government police as saying that the explosion of a homemade bomb in the area of the chemical fertilizer plant on the road from ash-Sharuqat to Bayji destroyed a US Humvee and wounded several American troops.



The source said that US forces surrounded the area and opened fire indiscriminately on passing cars, severely wounding one civilian who was taken to Bayji General Hospital for treatment. As of the time of reporting, the Americans had made no statement on the incident.



Balad.



Electrical workers abducted Saturday evening.



In a dispatch posted at 2pm Baghdad time Sunday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that seven employees of the Electricity Bureau in Balad, 80km north of Baghdad, had been kidnapped by gunmen while at work in the eastern part of the district on Saturday evening.



Yaqen reported a source in the Balad police as saying that the abduction took place in the area of the village of Tall adh-Dhahab in the Yathrib area. The electricity workers were repairing electric power lines damaged by bad weather.



Yaqen reported a spokesman for the Balad Electric Department as saying that some of the electric workers had been released on Sunday morning, but that the fate of the others remains unclear. The source provided no information as to the party responsible for the abduction.

Three US troops reported killed in bomb attack east of Ba‘qubah Sunday.



In a dispatch posted at 9:05pm Baghdad time Sunday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a US patrol on a main road in the Kan‘an area, 35km east of Ba‘qubah (which is 65km northeast of Baghdad), on Sunday.



Yaqen reported a source in the US-installed regime in Diyala Province as saying that that three US soldiers were killed in the blast.



For its part, a public relations officer of the US occupation forces announced that one soldier only had been killed in the bombing, but he refused to provide any further details.



An American statement on Friday had admitted the first American death in Iraq in April according to official figures.

Bomb kills civilian in Buhriz Sunday.



In a dispatch posted at 6:08pm Baghdad time Sunday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a private car on a street in the Abu Khamis area of Buhriz, 60km northeast of Baghdad on Sunday.



Yaqen reported a source in the Iraqi regime security forces as saying that the blast killed one person in the car and wounded four more. The source offered no further details on the incident, other than to say that the victims had been taken to Ba‘qubah General Hospital for treatment.

Pro-American gunmen burn down cultural center run by Sadr Movement in al-Hillah Sunday.



In a dispatch posted at 1:18pm Baghdad time Sunday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that unknown gunmen burned down a cultural center runby the movement of anti-occupation Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr in the city of al-Hillah, 100km south of Baghdad, on Sunday.



Yaqen reported a source in the US-backed regime’s security services as saying that gunmen set fire to the Sadr Movement cultural center in the Muhayzim area of al-Hillah, causing the collapse of large parts of the building. The source said that there were no casualties in the arson, since the building was empty at the time of the assault.



The attack followed a wave of attacks on the offices of US-backed government political parties in the city.

Busload of college students released after abduction south of al-Mawsil Sunday.



In a dispatch posted at 3:36pm Baghdad time Sunday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a group of college students abducted earlier had been released.



Yaqen reported a source in the US-backed regime in Ninwa Province as saying that the students were set free on Sunday, but did not say whether they had been released by their abductors or as a result of some kind of military or police action.



Earlier, in a dispatch posted at 1:16pm Baghdad time Sunday, Yaqen had reported that gunmen had kidnapped 42 students from al-Mawsil University at a roadblock on Sunday.



Yaqen reported a source in the al-Mawsil police as saying that armed men set up a checkpoint at Mafraq al-Jurn and stopped a bus carrying university students on the road linking Baghdad with al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of the Iraqi capital. The source said that the gunmen forced the students out of the bus at gunpoint and took them off in the direction of the village of al-Jaradhi near Hammam al-‘Alil, about 20km southeast of al-Mawsil.

Murder spree by US-backed “Awakening” tribesmen continues: one more man murdered after being released by American forces from prison camp.



In a dispatch posted at 9:59am Baghdad time Monday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that US-recruited “Awakening” tribal police murdered Sinan Raji al-Alusi a man who had been released from prison a week earlier by US occupation forces. It was the latest in a series of murders of men whom the Americans have released only to be murdered by the Iraqi tribal policemen, one of whose leaders has publicly pledged to kill every man released by his American allies.



Yaqen reported a source in al-Hadithah, 270km northwest of Baghdad, as saying that like all those released from prison Sinan al-Alusi was required to register daily with the “Awakening” police and it was on his way home from one such registration that he was abducted.



The US-backed tribesmen attacked al-Alusi who was riding on his motorcycle near a n old water treatment facility in the city. The tribesmen stopped him and then shot him execution style in the street, where they then left his body. The source said that members of the police had confirmed the killing and the fact that the “Awakening” was behind it. Eyewitnesses said that government police vehicles were among those used by the patrol that executed al-Alusi.

US bombardment in Baghdad kills nine Iraqi civilians, wounds 31 others Monday afternoon.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 8:34am Tuesday morning Beijing time (4:34am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that 40 Iraqis had been killed or injured in exchanges of mortar fire in eastern Baghdad on Monday afternoon according to an Iraqi regime security source.



Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi Interior Ministry as saying that the US base in ar-Rustamiyah in southern Baghdad was the target of three mortar rounds. The Americans in the base then responded by firing three mortar rounds at the source of the incoming fire. The American shells, however, fell amidst houses in the residential al-Amin neighborhood of eastern Baghdad, killing nine civilians and wounding 31 others.



Four mortar rounds landed in the top security “Green Zone” area of central Baghdad on Monday afternoon. As usual, the Americans released no information on the nature or extent of casualties.



One mortar shell landed in the al-Karradah area opposite the “Green Zone,” wounding two civilians. Another landed in the Iraqi Foreign Ministry car park, damaging three private cars there.



Three other mortar shells landed on the police station in the Madinat as-Sadr area of eastern Baghdad, wounding two policemen.



US admits death of soldier in attack in eastern Baghdad Monday.



In a dispatch posted at 9:25pm Baghdad time Monday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the US military had announced that a bomb had exploded by a US patrol in eastern Baghdad on Monday.



Yaqen reported a US communiqué as saying that after the explosion the US troops came under small arms fire and that one American soldier was killed.



Although the American statement gave no specifics regarding the attack, it is known that the US has been conducting an offensive against the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militia in eastern Baghdad’s Madinat as-Sadr district.

Eight killed in US air raid Sunday night; Americans deny raid took place.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 4:40pm Monday afternoon Beijing time (12:40pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a source in the Sadr Office in al-Basrah had said that eight members of the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militia had been killed in an American air raid to the west of al-Basrah on Sunday night.



Xinhua reported the source, who asked not to be identified, as saying that a US fighter plane blasted a home in the al-Hayyaniyah ar-Rabi‘ah district to the west of al-Basrah on Sunday night. He said that the attack killed eight members of the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia and that a number of civilians were also wounded in the attack, which completely destroyed the targeted home.



The source said that the victims had all been members of the Jaysh al-Mahdi but added that they were not armed fighters. He also said that there had been no clashes in the area where the American air raid took place.



Residents of the al-Hayyaniyah area confirmed that eight people had died last night in an American air raid. No statement on the killings had been issued by the Anglo-American occupation command as of the time of reporting.



Later, in a dispatch posted at 9:05pm Baghdad time Monday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that sources in the Forensic Medicine Department in al-Basrah had reported that the city morgue had received the bodies of seven people bearing shrapnel wounds on Monday. The Anglo-American occupation command, however, denied that its aircraft, or aircraft flown by the US-backed Iraqi regime, had carried out any bombardments on Sunday night.



Yaqen reported a source in the Forensic Medicine Department as saying that the police from the al-Asdiqa’ neighborhood, 8km north of al-Basrah, brought in the bodies at dawn Monday. The source said he had no further information on the identity of the dead or circumstances of their demise.



An American spokesman said that its aircraft were not responsible for the casualties, claiming that a bomb exploded in a house in the al-Asdiqa’ area late Sunday night.



Bomb targets Major General in Interior Ministry.

Iraqi National Guard foil attempted murder of another prisoner released by US occupation authorities in Iraq.



In a dispatch posted at 6:30pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that continuing a series of murders of individuals released by US occupation authorities from prison camps, the “Awakening” tribal police near al-Hadithah kidnapped one more recently release prisoner, but regular Iraqi regime police were able to rescue the victim before he too could be killed.



Yaqen reported members of the Iraqi National Guard as saying that the US-recruited tribal “Awakening” police stopped a car carrying Ayyub Mahdi ‘Abd ar-Rahim az-Zawi and several women near the az-Zawiyah cemetery. Az-Zawi had recently been released by US occupation authorities from one of their prison camps in the country. The “Awakening” policemen took az-Zawi off at gunpoint, leaving the three women who had been with him stranded in the desert.



Alerted by the women, the Iraqi National Guardsmen stopped the “Awakening” policemen’s car at the government checkpoint on the outskirts of al-Hadithah. The women helped them identify the “Awakening” police kidnappers and to rescue the man whom they had abducted. It was learned that all the people in the car with the victim were members of the al-Jaghayifah Tribe – the tribe to which all members of the “Awakening” police in the al-Hadithah area belong.



The sources said that an investigation was still underway as the authorities hope to learn where the tribesmen have been hiding the other released prisoners whom they have abducted in recent weeks. A leader of the tribe had publicly announced that his men would kill any prisoner released by the Americans and about a dozen have in fact been murdered in the al-Hadithah area in recent weeks.

Muqtada as-Sadr hints at possible end of truce if US offensive continues.



In a dispatch posted at 4:30pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the Shi‘i cleric Muqtada as-Sadr, a leader of the opposition to the US occupation , issued a statement on Tuesday in which he cancelled plans for a demonstration that his Sadr Movement had called. The cancellation was attributed to fear for the lives of the demonstrators in the context of the American armed offensive against the Sadr Movement currently underway, and the efforts of the US-backed regime to arrest and repress Sadr supporters.



Yaqen reported that Muqtada as-Sadr also hinted that the freeze on the activity of his Jaysh al-Mahdi militia – which he had proclaimed last year and extended for six months at the end of February – might be also be cancelled if the American offensive against his movement continues.



Muqtada as-Sadr called on “those Iraqi people who wish to demonstrate against the occupation to postpone their action for the sake of their own safety.” He also warned that he might have to resort to ending the freeze on the Jaysh al-Mahdi’s activity if the drive against his movement continues.



Six Iraqi regime sappers wounded trying to disarm bomb in eastern Baghdad.



In a dispatch posted at 1:08pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded as sappers belonging to the Iraqi regime military were trying to disarm it in eastern Baghdad – an area where US forces have been engaged in an offensive against the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia.



US admits four more deaths of American troops in Iraq.



In a dispatch posted at 11:48am Baghdad time Tuesday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the US military had admitted Tuesday that the US admitted that four more American troops had been killed in Iraq since Monday evening.



Four mortar shells slam into “Green Zone” as US wages offensive against Jaysh al-Mahdi.



In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 3:39pm Tuesday afternoon Beijing time (11:39am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that four mortar rounds were fired at the top-security “Green Zone” in Baghdad on Tuesday morning.



Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi Interior Ministry as saying that no information on the nature or extent of US casualties was available. The “Green Zone” was targeted as American forces continued their offensive against the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militia in the eastern Baghdad district of Madinat as-Sadr.

Bomb wounds 16 in popular market in Tuz Khurmatu.



In a dispatch posted at 12:48pm Baghdad time midday Tuesday, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded in a popular market in Tuz Khurmatu, 250km north of Baghdad on Tuesday.



Yaqen reported a source in the police as saying that 16 people had been injured in the explosion, some of them critically.

Balad Ruz.



Bomb aboard minibus kills six women and children near Balad Ruz.



In a dispatch posted at 12:04pm Baghdad time midday Tuesday, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded on a minibus near Balad Ruz, 95km northeast of Baghdad.



Yaqen reported a source in the police as saying that the bomb exploded as the bus was traveling down the main road in the village of ad-Dahalidah near Balad Ruz. The blast killed six people – four children and two women – and wounded five other people – one woman and four children.



Al-Khalis.



Gunmen kill tribal leader of “Awakening” collaborator police, an in-law of ‘Izzat Ibrahim ad-Duri in al-Khalis.



In a dispatch posted at 9:57am Baghdad time Tuesday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that four leaders of the al-‘Ubayd tribe were killed in an armed attack in al-Khalis, 57km north of Baghdad on Monday evening.



Yaqen reported a source in the Iraqi regime security forces as saying that armed men attacked the home of ‘Aziz Muhammad Faraj in the village of at-Tahwil, killing him and three of his sons in addition to wounding four other members of the family.



The source pointed out that Shaykh ‘Aziz Muhammad Faraj was an in-law of Iraqi President ‘Izzat Ibrahim ad-Duri. He was also the Chairman of the American-recruited collaborationist “Awakening” tribal police in at-Tahwilah.

Bomb kills one in Rabi‘ah.



In a dispatch posted at 2:17pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded inside a shop in the Industrial Zone of Rabi‘ah, a town near the Syrian border in northwestern Iraq, on Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 10:05pm Baghdad time Wednesday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a US column on the strategic oil road near the storage area 30km south of al-Hadithah (which is 270km northwest of Baghdad) on Wednesday.



Yaqen reported eyewitnesses as saying that the explosion totally destroyed a Humvee in the American column, killing or wounding all the US troops aboard.



A statement that appeared in markets and other public places in western Iraq several hours later announced that three groups had been responsible for the attack: the Ansar al-Islam, al-Jaysh al-Islami, and a newly formed organization known as Harakat Nusrat al-Muqawamah (“the Movement in Support of the Resistance”). Ansar al-Islam is a Kurdish Islamist organization said to be affiliated with al-Qa‘idah. Al-Jaysh al-Islami has opposed al-Qa‘idah in the past. US helicopters were seen evacuating casualties from the area after the attack.



Yaqen noted that in the days before the Americans succeeded in recruiting Bedouin tribes to the “Awakening” tribal police, US convoys on the strategic oil road were attacked nearly every day. Since the rise of the “Awakening,” however, attacks on Americans in western Iraq have become very rare.

In a dispatch posted at 8:35pm Baghdad time Wednesday evening, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by US troops in the course of their offensive against the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia in eastern Baghdad on Tuesday.



Yaqen reported a communiqué issued by the US government as saying that the blast killed one American, the third US soldier to die in Iraq in 24 hours, according to official American statistics, after it was announced that another soldier died of injuries in a “non-combat incident” at dawn Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at pm Baghdad time Wednesday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that mortar shells blasted into houses in the Madinat as-Sadr area of Baghdad where the US is waging an offensive against the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militia.



The AMSI reported sources in the regime security forces and in hospitals as saying that the shelling left seven people dead, two of them children. Another 36 people were wounded in the attack, believed to have been carried out by the US forces.



A source in the security forces who refused to be identified said that one of the shells landed on a house in the Area 36 of Madinat as-Sadr, killing a father, two of his children, and their neighbor.



The source said that two other shells landed just a few meters from a funeral tent. The explosions of those shells killed three people and wounded 36 more, among them women and children.



US admits soldier killed in northeastern Baghdad explosion Tuesday.



In a dispatch posted at 11:04am Baghdad time Wednesday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the US military had admitted that a bomb exploded by an American military vehicle in northeastern Baghdad on Tuesday.



Yaqen reported a US communiqué as announcing that the blast killed one American soldier.



The US has been carrying out an offensive against the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militia in northeastern Baghdad for several days.

Cette opération est un résultat de l'explosion de la situation dans la bande de Gaza après que plusieurs factions palestiniennes ont averti de cette explosion à cause du sévère blocus sioniste imposé contre la bande de Gaza, blocus qui a causé la mort de 130 malades et qui menace d'une catastrophe humanitaire dans la bande de Gaza.

Cette opération est venue quelques heures après que les hommes des brigades d'Al-Qassam ont également tué un officier sioniste à Al-Qarara, à l'Est de Khan Younès.

There is not the slightest doubt that the american military is by far and away the most formidable military power in the world. But who controls that military is an entirely different matter. The american politicians who dictate military policy are not wasps but israelis - agents of the jews-only state in palestine. Iran’s so-called acquisition of nuclear weapons is a non-issue. And yet the jewish empire has managed to coerce america, and thus the security council, into believing the utter fantasy that it is a dire threat to world peace which must be placed at the top of the global political agenda. Why is american foreign policy and military intervention focussed almost solely on the middle east when countries on its own doorstep which provide it with vast amounts of oil are being allowed to drift out of american control?

America’s policies towards russia have been shaped for the last forty years by neocons originating from the office of the right wing democratic senator henry jackson. They managed to abolish nixon’s détente with russia which could have resulted in a vast, mutually beneficial, economic boom between the two countries. The neocons, however, didn’t want any american rapproachment with the russians because russia poses the danger of nuclear obliteration to the jews-only state in palestine. Once again, jewish interests predominated over american interests and americans carried out the orders of their jewish masters.

Israeli traitors control the american media, the republican and democratic parties, congress, the pentagon, the office of homeland security, the cia, the defence intelligence agency, the state department, the national security council, and the presidency. They have not been marginalized - they are integrated in the centers of power. Yet they have set themselves apart from the rest of the US citizens and conceive of themselves as having a special mission - of being first Jews who unconditionally support the State of Israel and all of its international projections of power. How can we explain this irrational embrace of a militarist state by a set of individuals who only vicariously share its life and destiny?" Le secrétaire général du front populaire pour la libération de la Palestine (le commandement général), Ahmed Jebril, a dévoilé que l'occupation israélienne compte effectuer une vaste opération militaire contre la bande de Gaza en coordination avec le président de l'autorité palestinienne, Mahmoud Abbas.

Lors d'un entretien avec le journal, "Al-Qods Al-Arabi", Jebril a dit : "nous détenons des informations venant de plusieurs sources occidentales que l'occupation israélienne va effectuer, durant les semaines prochaines, une vaste opération militaire contre la bande de Gaza en permettant au président Abbas de condamner fortement cette opération.

Les sources qui ont refusé de dévoiler leurs identités, ont affirmé que l'occupation va envahir la bande de Gaza en coordination avec les forces du président Abbas, en tirant l'attention que cette opération va se dérouler durant 20 jours prochains, selon les sources occidentales.

Il a ajouté que des forces égyptiennes et internationales vont entrer dans la bande de Gaza pour instaurer l'autorité d'Abbas après cette incursion et que ce travail va créer l'anarchie et la crainte au sein des palestiniens, la Syrie et le Hezbollah.

Les chefs de l'entité sioniste étudient ce sujet, néanmoins Jebril affirme que la bande de Gaza serait leur cimetière.

A drill-siren will be heard across the country as part of a national home-front exercise at 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 8, 2008.

The siren will be part of a national drill taking place involving all of the national emergency services, the IDF Home-Front Command, the Israel Police, Magen David Adom, Israel Fire Department, government offices and local authorities.
Immediately after the drill-siren, a special home-front broadcast will be shown on channel 33 during which explanatory videos will be broadcasted guiding the general public on safeguard areas as well as special explanatory videos for children.

For the first time in Israel, the Israel National Emergency Agency (NEA) will conduct a large-scale home-front drill design to examine the country's emergency preparedness during the state of emergency. The drill will take place between the 6th and the 10 of April, 2008.

The NEA was established in September 2007 in order to coordinate the work of all military and civilian bodies that are operational during a national state of emergency of natural disaster.

The nation-wide drill will simulate various emergency situations that can develop after a full scale war or natural disaster, and will include sounding a siren throughout the country, simulation of an attack by non-conventional rockets, receiving the injured in hospitals, dills in all educational institutes throughout Israel and forwarding warnings and instructions to the general public via mass media.

Afghanistan : Le Légendaire Chef des Mujahideen, Jalaluddin Haqqani, De Retour sur le Front pour Lancer l'Offensive de Printemps Contre les Forces de l'OTAN

Coïncidant avec la réunion des pays membres de l'OTAN à Bucarest, où Sarkozy vient d'annoncer l'envoi au casse pipe de 800 soldats français à la place des soldats US dans l'Est de l'Afghanistan , le dirigeant Pashtoun, Jalaluddin Haqqani, devenu célébre lors de la résistance menée contre l'envahisseur soviétique, fait sa réapparition pour lancer à la tête des mujahideen une grande offensive de printemps contre l'OTAN.

Les Talibans accueillent le retour d'un vieil ami.

Telle une voix venant d'outre tombe, le chef légendaire afghan des mujahideen, Jalaluddin Haqqani, vient d'émerger de plusieurs années de silence pour lancer effrontément l'offensive de printemps des Talibans en Afghanistan, enterrant en même temps tout doute d'une éventuelle division entre sa coalition de groupes de résistants et les Talibans du Mullah Omar.





Dans un message vidéo rendu public la semaine dernière et qui seulement maintenant circule largement, Haqqani, s'exprimant de sa voix particulièrement basse, et ses cheveux teints au henné, a appelé le peuple d'Afghanistan a «se soulever contre les forces menées par les US en Afghanistan et à les chasser. »





La publication de ce message d'Haqqani, dont la tête est mise à prix comme l'un des hommes les plus recherchés par les US, coïncide avec une importante réunion de l'OTAN à Bucarest en Roumanie, ce weekend, où l'Alliance divisée essaiera de mettre sur pied une stratégie plus cohérente pour la guerre en Afghanistan, dont beaucoup d'analystes estiment qu'ils sont entrain de la perdre.





Alors qu'Haqqani parle dans la vidéo, il est accompagné par un chant de fond faisant allégeance au Mollah Omar, balayant tout doute comme quoi il se serait lui-même positionné en rival du courant principal desTalibans.





Avec son fils Sirajuddin, Jalaluddin Haqqani a mis sur pied un groupe bien organisé, connu comme étant le réseau Haqqani, s'enracinant dans les zones tribales du Pakistan, qui, maintenant fermement alliés avec le Mollah Omar, va poser une dangereuse menace aux forces de coalition en Afghanistan.





Haqqani a bruyamment rejeté toute idée – comme s'en sont vantés les hauts officiers de l'OTAN- que les Talibans étaient affaiblis et pourraient renoncer à leur offensive de printemps. « L'ensemble des 37 alliés de l'OTAN seront humiliés et chassés de l'Afghanistan – le jihad est obligatoire, et continuera jusqu'à la fin des temps, nous n'avons pas de ressources, mais nous avons le soutien de Dieu. »





Haqqani a dit que les Talibans et leurs alliés en Afghanistan ont mis au point de nouveaux plans pour combattre l'OTAN, et il n'y avait pas place dans ses plans pour la réconciliation. « Nous nous orientons vers la guerre » a déclaré Haqqari.





« (Président Georges W. ) Bush et ses alliés ont décidé de nous tuer ou de nous arrêter – Ils nous considèrent comme étant faibles et se pensent comme tout puissants. Ils pensent qu'il n'y a pas de place pour survivre pour nous dans le monde – ils pensent que notre destin c'est de mourir ou d'être capturés… Ils pensent que se sont des nations riches, qu'ils ont derrière eux leur argent et la moitié du monde.





« Ils pensent qu'ils peuvent réduire en esclavage les pauvres afghans – nous bombarder avec leurs avions et leurs hélicoptères armés de mitrailleuses – Ils pensent qu'ils ont tout et que nous sommes sans voix – les médias sont de leur côté, et ils minimisent notre résistance. Nous en tuont 80 et ils rapportent que nous en avons tués 2 ou 1. Je promet à la nation Afghane que nous serons bientôt victorieux » a dit Haqqani.





Le long discours par le dirigeant Pashtoun, qui s'est fait une réputation en combattant les soviétiques en Afghanistan dans les années 80, et reste le plus respecté des personnalités tribales dans le sud est de l'Afghanistan, est le plus sophistiqué des discours talibans jamais présenté au peuple Pashtoun.





Des copies du discours d'Haqqani ont été mis en circulation partout dans l'Est de l'Afghanistan et sont disponibles en différents formats, dont une cassette enregistrée, et il peut aussi être téléchargé sur téléphone portable. Après avoir été silencieux pendant si longtemps, et ayant été considéré comme mort à de multiples reprises, l'impact des gens écoutant Haqqani va être immense et sera sans nulle doute une force qui va galvaniser les Pashtouns.





Ceci tout spécialement alors que l'OTAN a travaillé dur ces derniers mois pour dresser un portrait des Talibans comme une force usée de quelques jeunes types naïfs qui n'avaient plus aucun chef crédible à leur tête.





« Ils ont répandu la rumeur que Jalaluddin Haqqani était mort à Dubaï (dans les Emirats Arabes Unis). Je ne suis ni un commerçant ni un homme d'affaire pour voyager à Dubaï. Je ne suis pas non plus un politicien qui fait le tour du monde… Les Américains pensaient qu'avec leur technologie développée ils pouvaient planté la nouvelle de ma mort dans les médias. Mais maintenant, les médias réalisent les mensonges qu'ils ont propagés pour démoraliser les mujahideens » a dit Haqqani.





Une partie graphique de la vidéo d'Haqqani montre une opération suicide menée par un Turc Allemand, Cuneyt Ciftci, aussi connu sous le nom de Saad Abu Furkan. On le voit dans la vidéo se faisant exploser avec un camion de transport près de la base US dans le district Sabari de la province de Khost en Afghanistan le 3 mars 2008. Selon ce qu'a rapporté la presse occidentale, deux soldats de l'ISAF dirigée par l'OTAN et deux travailleurs afghans ont été tués et 6 autres blessés. Mais la vidéo affirme que 63 personnes ont été tuées.





La nouvelle bataille des Talibans





L'inclusion de cette vidéo de l'attaque suicide – une parmi des douzaines qui ont eu lieu dans le pays ces dernières années – est importante car cela montre un niveau sans précédent de planification et d'organisation qui ne sont normalement pas associées aux actions des Talibans.





L'enregistrement montre une carte dessinée professionnellement, comme celle d'un architecte, d'un bâtiment des quartiers généraux du district de Sabari. Elle comporte des détails des murs d'enceinte, des murs intérieurs de protection, des points d'entrée, des pièces, des zones se trouvant devant et derrière la nouvelle structure construite. C'est clair que les Talibans avaient des contacts avec des travailleurs ou des entreprises. Il y a des photos de guérilléros talibans assis autour de la carte discutant leur plan pour lancer le kamikaze au volant de son véhicule bourré d'explosifs.





C'est bien loin des habituelles vidéos afghanes de guet-apens contre des convois militaires dans les montagnes. La vidéo d'Haqqani rappelle celles de la résistance irakienne de 2004-2005, quand des opérations étaient méticuleusement planifiées par d'anciens officiers de l'armée de Saddam Hussein et exécutées avec précision.





Pendant toutes ces années, depuis qu'ils ont été chassés en 2001, les Talibans ont eu de nombreux hauts et bas, depuis l'offensive réussie du printemps 2006 jusqu'au soulèvement de masse de 2007 qui a échoué. Maintenant, les Talibans ont adopté une politique visant à préserver leurs forces en frappant des cibles spécifiques, plutôt que de gaspiller leurs ressources dans de multiples confrontations avec les forces de l'OTAN.





Les Talibans ont également ouvert de nouveaux fronts basés dans la zone de Khyber au Pakistan, juste de l'autre côté de la frontière de la province afghane de Nangarhar, alors que l'OTAN renforçait sa présence dans les points forts traditionnels des Talibans dans les provinces de Paktika, Khost et Kunar.





La semaine dernière, l'OTAN a annoncé l'ouverture d'un centre de renseignement près du poste frontalier de Torkham, au croisement de la province de Nangarhar et de la zone de Khyber. Mais elle a été incapable de déjouer la plus grande opération menée par la guérilla contre une base US dans la province quelques jours plus tard. Plus de 200 Talibans ont participé à une opération de nuit du type frapper et disparaître. Les sources des Talibans ont affirmé avoir tué 70 soldats US, mais il n'y a pas eu de confirmation du chiffre par l'OTAN ou une quelconque source indépendante.





Selon la vidéo, les Talibans utiliseront autant d'expertise étrangère que possible, de même qu'ils vont recruter parmi les anciens des tribus et leurs soutiens. Cela veut dire que les commandants Talibans traditionnels comme le Mollah Beradar du sud est de l'Afghanistan et des commandants qui sont alliés avec les Talibans, comme Anwarul Haq Mujahadih de Nangarhar, et des commandants uzbeks et arabes, les rejoindront pour mener une stratégie d'ensemble cohérente. Ceci bien sûr, comprend Haqqani et ceux nombreux qui le suivent.





Un nouvelle corde à l'arc des Talibans c'est la possibilité de compter sur des milliers de Pakistanais et d'autres Jihadistes qui sont «au chômage» depuis la désescalade de la lutte au Kashmir. Ils sont bien entraînés, et comme ils l'ont fait au Kashmir administré par les Indous, et dans d'autres parties de l'Inde, on peut s'attendre à ce qu'ils ciblent des infrastructures clés et des cibles de haut profil, tel que des bâtiments du gouvernement.





L'attaque suicide de cette année par le réseau d'Haqqani contre l'hôtel Serina à Kaboul, ou plusieurs personnes, dont des étrangers, ont été tuées, et l'attaque à Khost le 3 mars, montrée dans la vidéo, indiquent la direction clé vers laquelle se dirige l'insurrection dirigée par les Talibans.

« PsyOps », opérations psychologiques

PsyOps, acronyme de « Psychological opérations », est une appellation utilisée par le Pentagone pour ne pas dire propagande. L’unité 626, chargée du programme, part du principe – pour paraphraser Lénine - qu’ « on ne fait pas d’omelette sans casser d’œufs ». En maximisant le nombre de civils irakiens massacrés dans un attentat, on impressionne les médias, et en réduisant au minimum celui de soldats américains tués, on crédibilise une opération. Objectif : influencer l’opinion américaine, dubitative, quand Bush évoque la menace islamiste, et démoraliser les Irakiens. Il suffit de quelques agents pour manipuler une organisation comme Al-Qaïda en Irak. Abou Tourab Al-Jazaïri (L’Algérien) – « Emir d’Al-Qaïda pour Samarra » - a déclaré au quotidien Al-Arab que l’ « Etat islamique d’Irak » avait commis des « erreurs » qui ne se seraient pas produites « si Zarqaoui était vivant ». « Al-Qaïda au pays des deux fleuves » - « Al-Qaïda en Irak » (AQI), selon la dénomination des médias - est née dans la suspicion : celle de la résistance… et de Ben Laden. La carrière sanglante d’Abou Mussab al-Zarqaoui, son fondateur, comporte - comme celle de ses successeurs - des zones d’ombre qui ne seront pas éclaircies avant longtemps.

Les tentatives d’AQI pour s’imposer comme fédérateur de la résistance ont été infructueuses. Ses excès religieux et ses crimes – massacres de chiites, assassinats de chefs de tribu et de combattants refusant sa suprématie – lui ont aliéné les Irakiens, au point d’être rappelée à l’ordre par Ben Laden.

Zarqaoui, ou son fantôme

Les préceptes de l’islam avaient certes sauvé le Jordanien Zarqaoui de la délinquance, mais pas du sectarisme et du terrorisme. Après un séjour en Afghanistan, dans les années 80, il fonda en Jordanie Beyt Al-Imam pour renverser le roi Hussein. Arrêté avant de passer à l’action, condamné à 15 ans de prison en 1993, amnistié six ans plus tard par Abdallah II, il proposa aussitôt ses services à Al-Qaïda qui se demandait s’il n’avait pas été libéré pour infiltrer l’organisation. Cette inquiétude, dissipée par son allégeance à Ben Laden, renaîtra lorsqu’il créera son camp d’entraînement près de Hérat, puis al-Tawhid wal Djihad (Unification et Guerre sainte), groupe perçu comme concurrent d’Al-Qaïda.

Après la chute des Talibans, il se réfugia en 2001 au Kurdistan irakien, auprès d’Ansar Al-Islam, organisation salafiste à majorité kurde. Malgré les déclarations de Colin Powell qui en faisait le chaînon manquant prouvant la relation Saddam Hussein - Ben Laden, et les attentats meurtriers d’août 2003 qui lui sont attribués, sans doute à tort - explosion du siège des Nations unies, assassinat de l’ayatollah Mohamad Baker Al-Hakim -, il ne deviendra la nouvelle « star » américaine du terrorisme qu’en mai 2004, avec la décapitation de Nicolas Berg.

En octobre 2004, son organisation prit le nom de « Al-Qaïda au pays des deux fleuves » pour signifier son rejet du patriotisme irakien, et revendiqua des attentats sauvages et contre productifs la déconsidérant : voitures piégées dans les quartiers chiites, assassinat de diplomates arabes - un Egyptien et un Algérien-, attentats contre l’ambassade de Jordanie et de grands hôtels d’Amman.

Le New York Times révéla en 2006 que l’armée américaine avait à dessein exagéré le rôle de Zarqaoui, estimant qu’en Irak la « menace à long terme » n’était pas l’extrémisme religieux, mais le baasisme. Le Général Mark Kimmitt, ancien n°2 des forces d’occupation, déclara même que: « le programme PsyOp Zarqaoui » était « la campagne d’information la plus réussie à ce jour ». L’objectif étant de monter les « insurgés » les uns contre les autres, et de faire du « terrorisme et des djihadistes étrangers » - et de la résistance à travers eux - la source de toutes les souffrances.

Un bon prétexte pour les Américains

La chasse à Zarqaoui servit de prétexte aux grandes opérations militaires pour démanteler la résistance, réduisant les atrocités américaines à de simples dégâts collatéraux. En novembre 2004, la population Falloujah fut en partie massacrée pour soi-disant l’éliminer. Mossoul, Samarra et Tel Afar suivirent. Après chaque bataille, l’armée US déclarait que le « cerveau de l’insurrection » - tel Fantomas - était passé à travers les mailles du filet, qu’il fallait le poursuivre ailleurs.

L’étoile du Jordanien pâlit en janvier 2006 avec la constitution du Conseil consultatif des Moudjahidine comprenant plusieurs organisations de résistance. Il perdit la primauté de décision. Le personnage avait fait son temps. Trahi, dit-on, par un agent du GID - le service secret jordanien - infiltré dans son entourage, il fut tué le 7 juin 2006 près de Baqouba (nord de Bagdad). Il a été remplacé, le 12 juin, par Abou Hamza Al-Mouhajer (L’Emigrant), dit Abou Ayyoub Al-Masri (L’Egyptien), au parcours tout aussi énigmatique : un avocat du Caire affirme qu’un islamiste portant son nom est incarcéré en Egypte à la prison de Wadi Al-Natroun.

La disparition de Zarqaoui fit place à une irakisation limitée de la guérilla benladéniste. Le Conseil consultatif des Moudjahidine annonça, en octobre 2006, la naissance d’un « Etat islamique d’Irak » (ISI) présidé par Abou Omar Al-Baghdadi, « Commandeur des Croyants. Il couvrait théoriquement les régions de Bagdad, Al-Anbar, Kirkouk, Diyala, Salaheddine, Babylone, Wasit (*). Sa proclamation fut aussitôt condamnée par le parti Baas clandestin comme la « pierre supplémentaire du programme visant à diviser l’Irak ».

Zarqaoui était omniprésent, bien que personne ne l’avait vu nulle part. Omar Al-Baghdadi, lui, est carrément invisible. Selon des témoignages, il n’existe pas. L’homme au visage caché des vidéos serait un acteur utilisé pour la circonstance. Il « gouverne » néanmoins son émirat virtuel entouré de ministres. Celui de la Défense avait instauré la conscription dans la région d’Al-Anbar, celui des Finances, l’impôt ! La résistance lui devait allégeance. Une stricte observance de l’islam était imposée et les contrevenants punis. Le résultat ne s’est pas fait attendre : assassinats de chefs de tribu rétifs, batailles rangées avec l’Armée islamique d’Irak, les Brigades de la Révolution de 1920 et l’Union des djihadistes irakiens. Pour la résistance, la priorité est le départ des Américains et des pro-iraniens, pas la révolution islamique. La nature du futur Etat sera décidée ensuite, démocratiquement.

Le bilan du benladénisme « au pays des deux fleuves » est lourd de conséquences pour l’Irak: accentuation des violences sectaires et ethniques, soutien objectif à la partition de facto du pays, divisions dans la résistance. Il est responsable de la constitution de milices pro américaines. Les chefs de tribu menacés et les voyous au sein d’Al-Qaïda sont passés, sans état d’âme, à la collaboration ! Le Général Kimmitt, qui planifie maintenant les opérations PsyOps au Proche-Orient, peut se frotter les mains.

Israël réalise des exercices militaires axés contre l'Iran et la Syrie

TEL AVIV - Israël prévoit réaliser le plus important exercice jamais fait face à d'éventuelles attaques massives de missiles par l'Iran et la Syrie. Le gouvernement a préparé cinq jours d'exercice qui se tiendront en avril et qui simuleront des attaques de missiles conventionnels et non conventionnels par l'Iran, le Liban et la Syrie. Les officiels ont déclaré que les exercices ont pour but de mesurer le temps de riposte de même que l'évacuation des villes frappées par des missiles ennemis.

L'exercice, qui doit débuter le 6 avril, a été organisé par l'Autorité nationale des urgences. L'Autorité a été créée en 2007 à la suite des recommandations qui ont suivi la guerre contre le Hezbollah un an auparavant, au cours de laquelle 4 500 roquettes sont tombées sur Israël.

Le vice-ministre de la Défense, Matan Vilna'i, est responsable de cet exercice destiné à coordonner les manoeuvres militaires, policières et des services d'urgence. L'exercice prévoit également des tirs de roquettes et de missiles sur des villes israéliennes du sud par le régime du Hamas dans la bande de Gaza.

L'exercice se déroulerait simultanément avec une simulation dirigée par le gouvernement. Des officiels ont déclaré que le premier ministre israélien Ehoud Olmert devrait réunir le Conseil des ministres (le Cabinet) pour ordonner une riposte à l'attaque ennemie.

Les officiels ont déclaré que l'exercice pourrait se dérouler chaque année selon une évaluation voulant que l'Iran possèdera une bombe nucléaire dès 2009. En 2007, les militaires ont stoppé une opération visant à remplacer les masques à gaz distribués à la fin des années 1990.
